Oh yes, 12 Second Daddy!

Fourth time at the drags, and up until now my best time is 13.1 at 111 mph. I don't know how you guys seem to make the 12's easily and those folks bumping into the 11's...I am amazed.

Anyhow...it was hot, topped out at 101 degrees. The track, Firebird raceway outside of Boise Idaho is probably 2500 - 3000 ft. elevation. During the test and tune the announcers said based on the weather we were racing at the equivelent of 6000'.

My first pass was a 13.0 @114. I figured I had a good shot at getting into the 12's.

My next three passes were all 12.9x. Also ran my fastest speed at 115mph. This is with vararam, LG headers and a tune. I consider this a milestone. I never figured it would be so difficult to cut a few 10's of a second off my time.

Now Ive got the 13 second monkey off my back it feels pretty good!

Comgrats! It usually gets easier to have lower times with more track time. Cool, dry weather and sticky tires on a equally sticky track will also help.

I agree, cooler temps and a little more traction and you are in the mid 12's.

good stuff...at those temps and elevation breaking into the 12s is an accomplishment...FYI I got my best times when air temp was 48* .... lost traction when temp got under 42*.

Congrats! I reached the 12s at beach bend at the fest also. However, I suck at the drags. I should be in the 11s or low 12s with my setup.

Sounds good! What were your 60 foot times??

My first time on the strip earned me a 14.4 at 69 mph.

Since it was my first time, I let off the gas at the 1/8th mile marker and coasted the rest of the way.

Well my 60' times suck. Of the 3 runs in the 12's I had:

2.2
2.3
2.3

Guess that is an area where I could really improve my time eh!
