Oil cooler question and amont of oil for track

I am going to Summit Point tomorrow. When my mechanic installed the DRM oil cooler they added a quart of oil. Therefore, I should have approximtely 7.5 quarts in the system. Should I add another quart for the track?

YES....but first check the dipstick after the car has sat overnite.

The extra qt added after installing the oil cooler should have brought the level back to the normal 6.5 qt. fill point to compensate for the cooler and line volume.

You still need another extra qt. to increase the volume level to where the recommend 7.5 qt. track overfill level would have been previous to the cooler install. This partially fills the "wing" reservoirs of the oil pan.

Thanks for the quick response Don. Can you tell me how much over the full line the extra quart should show on the dipstick?

Mine comes up between 1/8" and 1/4" ofer the "Full" fill line.

My 6.5 qt. fill is just under the "Full" line.

Each car is slightly different BTW.
