Oil and filter at the track--expert opinions

What do you guys that really race your Z06s use for motor oil and filter while on the track? Do we have any experts or engine builders that will weigh in on this one? Everyone has an opinion on oil, but those of you that really know, what do you recommend?

Thanks.

Mobil 1 15W-50 for its ability to resist viscosity breakdown.

Is that for racing? I think that I'd stick with a lower viscosity in a premium synthetic and go with an oil cooler before I went with a high viscosity oil. Then again, I'm no expert, so don't listen to me.

15W-50 is for high performance applications, which include racing, yes.

21st CMC and LPE also recommend it, and in fact is their standard fill, for their TT packages and 427 NA cars as well. It won't hurt on the street unless the ambient temp is very low.

There is a thread I posted a year ago or so had oil break down with temp. I am to lazy to do a search for it.

If you are at the level were you are running fast you will see oil temps in the 280 to 300 degree range. Mobil 1 is good for about 300 - 400 milles acccording to the information I got.

If you're seeing oil temps that high then you need an oil cooler in addition to a higher viscosity oil.
