Paging SoCal Drag Racers

There is a troll on the VCA forum that I have tried (unsuccessfully) to convince that we have many stock or near stock Z06's running low 12's, and even a few running high 11's. He claims to have never seen a stock Z06 run better than a 12.5. He never posts his times, I believe he is a keyboard racer, and I know he has with a crap attitude.

Can some of you who drag race your cars in SoCal PLEASE go the the Viper forum - http://www.viperclub.org/menus/index_forums.htm

Look at the Z06 vs Viper video thread in their racing section, scroll through it and challenge this troll Russ - and win or lose prove what our cars are capable of? I tire of the debate with Russ, so just let me know the outcome, I don;t plan to visit the thread.

Later, and good luck!

Les

Les, I can't on their board yet.

Don't tell him what I run, just that you know guy who likes to race in SoCal with a stock engined Z06, lowered, with appearance mods that wants to give him a shot at the track of his choice. Irwindale would be good. So would Carlsbad.

I like Viper guys who think Vettes are slow

What is funny is I only know of one Viper in Socal that does 11's and that isn't him.

Hell I will even run him

Their board requires me to be "approved". At least a few of their members know me. So don't use "McRat", just say you think the guys name is Pat and his wife might want run him also.

BTW - the same thing happened 2 years ago on our Camaro board. A guy came on with a Viper saying that a stock engined Camaro CANNOT beat a Viper. We trashed talked back and forth, and 20 of us went to Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield. The Viper guy DID SHOW!!!

We both did a couple of test passes, then I caught him in lanes, and lined up on him...

2000 Camaro SS M6 with 3.73's tires, catback, aircleaner mod

VS.

2000 Viper with 425rwhp, headers and intake

http://www.qinsp.com/Pat/viper.mpg

He ran a 12.8 against my 12.5.

He refused a rematch and went home early. That was his best pass of the day.

The event became known as the Bakersfield Bloodbath. That video has been on numerous boards over the last 2 years.

That's just mean . . . .

Funny, but mean.
For living at a strip for a year, it doesn't sound like he's done much other than watch. Not a lot other than chest beating.

Damn, I wish my car sounded stock . . .

BTW, here is the post I just made on the VCA forum:

Quote: JohnC: First, Don't lump all Viper guys in with Russ, most aren't like him. Some Vette owners are socially retarded as well, we don't like to be compared to them either

Russ: I have someone with a Z06 in so cal who will meet you at Carlisbad Raceway any time. He has a few minor bolt-on's, no engine work at all, no more mods than you have on the Viper. His name is Pat, and he has accepted the challemge to school you on what a Z06 can do. After he is finished his wife says she can beat your big bad Viper as well, so you have (so far) two who have accepted the challenge. There may be more, Sunday is a slow day on the forums.

As soon as I have Pat's permission to post his email address I will post it here and leave the thread as promised. Pat will post the results, assuming you have the stones to show up.

Les

My email is qi@qinsp.com

My mod list:
Aftermarket muffler, stock cats and manifold in place. 6hp increase.
Top of aircleaner removed
Tuned for running in summer heat
DOT-legal street tires.
Red Fuzzy Dice on mirror - 100hp increase using G-Tech.

Carlsbad is good, will video tape it, win or lose.

Cool, Posting as we speak, let us know

Les

Here is a copy of what I posted:

Russ,

Here is the post from Pat (and his wife). He accepts the challenge and has listed his mods. His email is included, you two agree a time and place and Pat will video the event for ALL to see. More may accept the challenge, so I will have Pat let the Vette forums know so that we can have more "samples".

From Pat:

My email is qi@qinsp.com

"My mod list:

Top of aircleaner removed
Tuned for running in summer heat

Pat

So there it is Russ, you have been talking a lot about how fast you are and how slow we are. Time to walk the walk. Play safe, but make sure you are on your "A" game, even racing a lowly near stock Z

Les
