Had a professional photographer take a pretty good shot of my car this past weekend at Roebling Road, just outside Savannah GA. Pic was taken during Saturday practice or qualifying. I think cars behind are a T2 class STi followed by two AS class Mustangs.
The race went pretty well for me considering how little track time I've had in the past year and that this was my first race on this track (though I did DE there once in late 01 and again in early 02). I finished 3 of 5 in the T1 class and 7 of 28 overall. Fellow forum member wtknght1 (Chris Ingle) walked away from me enroute to a 2nd.
All in all it was a very enjoyable weekend for me. Was good to be back out on the track, the car ran great, I was happy finishing 3rd behind two seriously talented guys, and I had lots of family there to help. We all had a great dinner on the Savannah riverfront on Saturday in beautiful weather.
That is a fantatstic photo of your car Brad! It was good meeting you down at Roebling and its a shame that you can't run more often down here, but I can understand a 3000 mile commute!

I did not do well in qualifying, partially due to limited recent track experience and not knowing the capabilities of the other cars. The DOT tires are best for about the first four laps or so, then fade a second or so a lap. On each of my first four laps, I got stuck behind guys I thought would be faster than me, but weren't. I ended up qualifying 4 of 5 in class at 1:21 something, while Chris Ingle and Phil Croyle were an amazing five seconds a lap faster at 1:16.6 and 1:16.0 respectively. On race fuel, I did better at 1:19.2, but feel I had more speed left in me. My first four laps were back with the guys that qualified 1:21ish and it took me several laps to work my way up, by which time the tires had faded somewhat.
Bob Mayer, whom I beat, turned a 1:18.5, Chris turned a 1:17.3 and Phil (who won) turned a 1:17.5.
I was pretty dejected Saturday night after qualifying 5 seconds a lap back, but after the race I was feeling much better...

Thanks Denny, it was good to be back out there. I'm hoping to get a few more races in this spring when I am back on the left coast, but I'll be gone most of the summer. My goal again this year is to have fun and finish enough races to keep my license active (essentially four).

Jonathan, it was great meeting you and Carlos as well. It's always good to see some fellow enthusiasts at the track, and I know Chris really appreciates the help. Probably won't be racing in the SE for the next several years, but heck, I move every two years or so. Who knows where I'll be in 08?
