Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid...John Wayne.
Si vis pacem, para bellum.
Looks like you are doing just fine for bolt ons and drag radials. 12.1 with a 1.9 60 foot is respectable. I suspect if you cut you 60 foot down to 1.75 you will defintley run 11's.
It's you 60' time as mentioned above. Even a 1.80 would give you an 11 sec. timeslip. Also, why pack it in now? The weather is just getting good for dragstrip. If you run the same run above in 45 deg weather your in the 11's Goodluck!

Best 60' 1.41
i found an older slip when my mods were basically the same as your's (380rwhp) ... I had an 1.89 60ft, 7.63 1/8th (95mph) and 11.82 1/4 at 115.5 mph....something i noticed for my car was i had better 330ft 1/8 and 1/4 if i had a little spin at launch, no bog - it kept the front end up so no momentum loss (?) ... I launched around 4000rpm on DR at 16lbs air pressure...i could get a better 60ft but if it associated with a bog then other times suffered...after more practice and hp i got 1.7 60ft with a little spin...also best times resulted when i powershifted at near rev limiter...I know several who "short shift" 1-2 and then near rev limiter for 2-3 and 3-4.
my suggestion is practice with a little higher rpm launch, shift near rev limiter and for sure go to track after weather cools to 60* ... my very best times were in 40 -50* air temp.

Kat...Which cam are you running with those heads?
Can I have some more specifics on your car, I want those heads and was wonder about push rods, cam, clutch, hardened input shaft???, etc...
I think it would be a nice winter project for me.
Robz, when is your next trip to the strip? Maybe I'll head down and you can help me, or make a pass in my car so I can see that the it is capable.
Be glad to help. As soon as my car is up again, I'll meet you at atco and we'll get that 60' time in the 1.6-1.7 range. Hoping to be up soon.
Let me know anytime you want to go.

Sent a PM as not to thread jack.. Then I realized you started the thread
We are running the Exedy Dual clutch. This clutch is probably over kill a single would have been fine. But I never wanted to worry about a sticking clutch pedal ever again. I can't say enough good things about it. With limited seat time we have had in the car. Neither of us has missed a shift
We currently have the Rockland Standard Gear hardened output shaft installed.
We are looking to getting the car back on the road by the end of the week.
i feel for you. i too have given up on 11's for this year (only one more night at our local strip left in the season). my best with 405rwhp and nitto r2's is 12.31@116. DA is probably somewhere between 1500-2000. i know my 60' is the weak spot at a best of high 1.9's. i have tried many different launch techniques with no luck yet. maybe next season with more power and different tires i will see 11's. i've never raced at another track either so i can't say how well this track is prepped.

You and me both, I might try another day with robz's help, if we can hook up sometime. I think I need to see my car to do so I can see its capable. Then I will be inspired again.
What mods do you have to get 405HP??
I have headers, vararam, stingers and no cats, I only have 380.
