Hey, how's it going Rich? I shift at redline, but like you said the factory tach is not accurate. I know for certain I hit the rev limiter about 500 rpm short of red line at least once.
I was 3 tenths faster at a better track then I met you at. But still no 11. You might hit 11 at Maple Grove, traction is excellent DA is low. When/were are you racing next?

Dave,

I want to race today (I think Island is open), but I have too much work to do.

Is your car getting knock retard in 4th at the track? I have HP Tuners (for 2004 only) so next time we are both at the track you can use my scanner (I think the scanner works on all model years--someone correct me if I am mistaken).

BTW-- If you get a shift light, you'll eliminate having to rely on the factory tach. The Raptor light was very easy to install and is fairly unobtrusive. Plus you can get red leds to match your vette.

Take care,

Rich

Rutiger, the nitto555 r2 are hard to launch on although they stick much better than f1's, they have stiff sidewall and no flex.(road racing tires). I lovem as street tires but only was able to cut a 1.89 on them at the track and spun thru the shift. I also had the tire pressure at 14psi. On bfg drag radial you'll see a huge difference especially with 405rwhp.

yeah, i was really torn on tire choices and decided to go with the r2's. i am curious to know what the regular 555r's or bfg would get me though. i'll probably try those next season.

The r2 are awesome for the street and handle better much better than the 555r's and of course the DR. I think you made the best choice. I believe the r2's will hook slightly better than the nitto radials at the drag strip but much better from a roll. However the drag radial will hook the best by far especially on the launch
