Pro Cooler didn't do anything.

Ran my car again at Bristol Dragway with the Pro Cooler I got from Lingenfelter and it made no difference. In fact my car ran faster without it as soon as I took it off.

Maybe it's my car and hope others that have the Pro Cooler had better luck.

Just thought I'd inform those interested in getting one. They may work well on an aluminum intake but not ours.

Made no difference either in the engine temp.

Live and learn ha.

Honestly, how can you expect what is essentially a bag of ice laid across the top of your intake manifold to actually do *anything*?

Thermodynamics just don't work that way.

One of the advantages to the damn plastic intake is that it doesn't transfer heat from the motor like a metal intake would. That means it doesn't transfer cold from the surrounding air very good, either. And even if it did, at WOT, the only air that would get any heat transfer (600 CFM is a lot of fast moving air) at all is the air that makes immediate contact with the manifold walls. That's only going to be only a small fraction of the overall intake charge.

The guys that use big ice buckets to cool intake charges are cooling *supercharged* air, their coolers are designed to maximize heat transfer by passing the air *through* the cooler, not over it, and usually a single 10-20 second run is enough to reduce a 50 Lbs block of ice to tepid water.

Just my opinion, but I think that you'd be much better served by putting the Pro-Cooler at the bottom of a case of beer than on top of your motor.

RS:

I totally agree the bag doesn't conduct worth a **** if you get my drift. But in the racing world you live and learn. That's why I posted my results to help others.

Also noted previously that I was running 100 unleaded octane and saw NO dramatic change in my times or MPH. So last night
I ran back to useing 93 octane w/great results on both ends.

Other then my wife was filming the parking lot and some how missed all my runs. Can't figure out how she did that?

So two conclusions here,
1- the Pro-Cooler as I stated in my original tread doesn't work on our intakes but would work on metal intakes.
2- My car runs better on 93 octane then 100 octane.

I feel now also the car is broken in at less then 900 miles, 95%
track miles. These are conclusions my car has experienced and I hope it saves someone from wasted their hard earned bread.

I've been racing since the late 60's and it's been a common practice for drag racers to share info like this to avoid getting a piece of equipment etc. that really doesn't work well.

Good luck guys
