Ok. Got out of work early and drove down to atco. The weather seemed good. Met with a vette guy with a weather station and the DA was +650. The track seemed to be hooking pretty well as I watched for 20 minutes to see what was up. Here goes:
Set tire pressure to 12 cold.
Run 1: 11.37 @ 121.45 with a 1.58 60' Felt pretty good but I felt like I granny shifted too much.
Lowered the pressure down 1/2 pound.
Run 2: 11.28 @ 121.67 with a 1.546 60'. Ok, but I know this car has alot more in it and I didnt feel like I spun much so decided to launch higher for next time. While we waited I took a ride with a friend of mine who has a cobra with some big hp and torque and an awesome drive. He showed me how he shifts (powershifting) and got me pumped to go again.
Next run I came out at 6200 rpms 1.515 60' and ran a personal best of 11.11 @ 122.62. Who would have thought that a cobra would have inspired me to run faster? Anyway, still havent' figured out this powershifting thing but I know now that a 10 is in my future with this car.
Lined up one more time against a dragster and got tree'd pretty bad, but cut a 1.508 60' and ran an 11.19 @ 123mph. Caught him by the 1/8 mile and I think he let off. I'll take the win. Overall good day at the track; nothing broke and I stayed relatively straight down the track, .... and one step closer.
