Raced a 492rwhp 03 Cobra - Part II - VIDEO

Got a PM this morning from 03Cobra with an invitation to meet at the track tonight for round 2. DA was 140 when I got home about 10 oclock so it was somewhere around 200 when we raced.

Round 2 was pretty much like round 1, but he got it in 4th gear this time. I cut a .52 to his .60 and ran 11.38 @ 124.55 to his 12.20 @ 118.4. In his defense, he later ran an 11.72.

He offered to buy the video, I told him it was priceless.

Check out the video

Now a kill like that I can appreciate!

Great kill!
You had him smoked from the first 1\8th.
That was an excellent launch!

If he called you out, he must have thought he had enough to smoke you.
Nice way to send the snake back to the shop.....

Only a .08 sec diff in R/T?? In the video it looked like he was sleeping at the light -- a very interesting "analog" vs "digital" comparison.

Thought I would post the time slip because it looks like a lot more than 8/100ths difference in reaction time.

As my first post, I don't wanna ruffle any feathers. Take nothing away from your car, you've got one AWESOME Z there! But, this 03 guy must have no clue how to drive. On a 6700 ft DA day here in Denver, I drove my 03 to a 12.39 @ 115 and this was my first time using drag radials. At the time I was at 479 HP. Let's face it, the Z is quicker than a Cobra in stock form. The ease to squeeze 500 hp in these cars is ridiculous though. I was recently at a dyno where an 03 with 2 grand in mods put down 491 HP. Now we all know, hp means nothing if you can't apply it to the ground. I am just saying this guy should be trapping at 125 or so at his power level. The ET is a different story though. Anyway, great run, beautiful car and nice vid.

Your 60fts must be above 2.0 then. What tires are you running? You've got a 10 sec. combo there. I assume you powershift with that mph?

Cool, thanks for all the info. Just trying to help you figure out why you are unachieving. You are right at the HP level needed for 10's. BTW, if you want a little more help, get the blower ported, forget about the aftermarket ones...lol!

I saw part one and thought it was pretty cool. The Cobras are fast for sure. I post over on the SVT forum also and you guys are what it's all about. Two fast cars racing to the limit and having fun. Congrats to you both.

I do have to say nice kill JW02 and I have to give credit to 03Cobra for the great attitude you have.
