Racetrack In Southern California

Hey all,

Does anyone know if there are any racetracks in or around the southern california area that you can run your car at.

Also, I've never done this kind of thing before, so if anyone can tell me how does it work? What are steps involved, do I need certain equipment, etc, etc.

Thanks for any input.

Those are some good links. There are couple of more tracks. Are you looking for 1/4 mile, auto-x, or open track?

try www.calclub.com, its the SoCal SCCA region.

My friend Jim's dad is the regional instructor...

They run out at buttonwillow fairly often.

Too bad the last school function was in early October.

Lots of groups run Willow Springs and buttonwillow

TracQuest.net
Speedventures.net
and a variety of others.
Check the Willow Springs Raceway calendar and links.

Tracquest has good instruction for $
You will want to go to higher temp brake fluid and racier pads soon.
Make sure you have lots of pad and tires left.
I get 4 days from a set of F1SC's at Willow Springs. More at other tracks.
If you really get interested in it just search for threads on this site.
But its in your control, don't push the braking and the cornering your first time out and you can have a lot of fun without too much brake and tire wear.

Between Buttonwillow, willowsprings and Ca Speedway you can be on the track at least one or two weekends very month of the year. I run with nasaproracing.com, TCRA.com, ( Alfa club, and pantera club. You can choose to race or just take your car to the limits safely. Caution this stuff is addicting!

Hey JJC, were you at the last Speedventures event at Button Willow?
