Ran a new personal best AND kicked a Viper's butt in the process
Went to the track (Englishtown, NJ) Friday night to get a few runs. Good air: temperature in mid 50s, 60 % relative humidity, barometer hovering right around 30 in. Right away I noticed a silver Viper GTS that everybody was drooling over. I thought "Hmm, it'd be a nice race - Viper vs. Z06." Not knowing if the car was modified, what times he was running, or if the driver was good I took a chance and asked my friend who was running the lanes to set it up later in the night. If I lose, I lose, no big deal. I ran an 11.89 and 11.95 before we lined up. I tried to scan the slip but my scanner isn't cooperating tonight so you'll just have to take my word for it:
My friend caught the race on his digital camcorder so once I get it from him, I'll try to post it. As he was ready to record he said out loud "Watch this Vette spank the Viper." He said everyone around him turned around and looked at him like he had three heads. They must've looked at him with surprise as we crossed the finish line.
The guy left after our race so I never got a chance to chat with him to see if he was stock or not. BTW, I don't think he left because he lost, but because it was his third and final run.

I ran at Capitol Raceway Friday night. The first run was my best run ever as I finally broke into the 12's. The second was a little slower but the new 350Z I ran against lost by about 8 car lengths to me. I could not believe he was so far behind when I went through the traps. It was good for me My Z beat a z...

Congrats on your victory and great driving. I still think the Vipers are a thing of beauty to look at, but they aren't very user friendly to drive fast.
Thanks for the kind words guys and gal ! Nice going Panzer! It does feel pretty darn good to chalk another one up for the good guys
I should have the video in a couple of days. I think I'll need a volunteer to host it, though. I saw the replay at the track. It seemed like an eternity waiting for the Viper to go through the traps after I completed the run and it was only a little over 1/2 second difference
