Randy Pobst in my car at VIR!!!!!

Attended a two day DE event with the Audi club at VIR on 4/26 and 27. I was high bidder at a charity auction to have Randy Pobst go with me for one of my Tuesday sessions. I drove the first few laps and he gave me turn-by-turn pointers. That was quite a thrill.

Then the fun began. He got behind the wheel. Holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no reference point or words to describe what he did with my car. It was beyond anything I could have imagined. The car was at its limits every second we were out there. He drove the Roller Coaster like a crazy person. Right where it gets the hairiest, he is playing with the car at its limits (literally). At one point we came out of Oak Tree as if he was on a dirt track- back end going left right up against the rumble strip, but the car was always under control and just flying. I wish I could explain it better. Let's just say I have ridden and driven at VIR with some pretty good instructors, but his driving is a totally different game. If you ever get a chance to have a truly world class driver take you for a ride, DO IT!!!

A friend on the Audi allroads page got the same ride in his ar, and said almost the same thing. Yes they are in a different league.

Yea.. I had Randy drive my C5 and M3 last year.. what a blast. He was carrying a full conversation w/ me during his drive and giggling and chuckling.... all while having the car under full control and MUCH faster than everyone else.....

About 4-5 of us from GA will be at VIR in June with Mazda group and Viperdays in July. Hope to see you then.
