Road Atlanta

After losing badly to the Prodrive Ferraris at Le Mans, the C5-Rs came to Road Atlanta for the ALMS race and took first and third in GTS, with a Ferrari sandwiched in between. The Ferraris apparently are faster on long straights and big sweepers, but do not corner as quickly in tighter turns as the Corvettes.

Great to see the C5-R bounce back from a very disappointing defeat at LeMans.

What a shame the biggest race of the year(24 hr of LeMans), on the 50th Anniversary of the Corvette, was such a lobsided loss.
Corvette can win the rest of the races but it won't overcome the huge loss at LeMans.

Ya have to wonder why Corvette didn't run the Daytona 24hr in Feb. to get a good tuneup for the 24hr of LeMans. They might have found out the gremlins that got them in France.

I asked that question of the race director at a forum at the Birthday Bash in April. He indicated they'd been there, and accomplished all they needed at Daytona. Well, I would be wondering about that decision.

Too late now...the BIG ONE got away!!

Watched the whole thing yesterday. I love the in car footage from the vette. Man, I can't wait to get back on the track. Only 12 days until we leave for Road America.

I thought the Vettes actually looked faster. Once the #4 car got the lead they never looked back. And if it was not for a flat the #3 probably would have been second.

Before the flat, it was awsome to see the Vettes coming thru 1/2 and then a couple of seconds later the 3 Ferrari's giving chase!

Even after the flat, Johnny and Ron caught and passed the Olive Garden and 1 Prodrive 550 Marnello's.

I figured the C5-Rs were all painted Le Mans Blue now--these are still yellow. What gives?
