Summit Point in West Va. Just a little from Fredrick MD there is a track day or Friday at the track day April the 4th I think. Cost is something like 150 to 175. I'll be there as to do a little sorting for my car.

Where are you in VA? Summit Point is about 45 mins from my home in eastern Loudoun County. The track is just outside of Berryville, VA over the line in WVa.
Their website is www.summitpoint-raceway.com The track has established one of the premier road course schools in the country. I've been going up there for over 10 years off and on. Took the Z06 up this past Oct. The car is a blast on the track!
Their basic school is held at least once a month and is called "Friday at the Track (FATT)." For $185 (late registration to avoid rain, $175 early registration), you get 4 class sessions and 4 track sessions with an instructor. Each track session is about 20-25 minutes. They start you out in Level 1A, rank novice, then you go to 1b, then 2, then solo. Most drivers spend a day at each level before getting signed off for solo. Their website gives you all of the info you should need. Once you are solo qualified, you are allowed to participate in their "Seat Time" track days. No instructors, just two class, competition and street, and usually 6 sessions a day, same price.
I'll be going up for the April 19 FATT session, barring weather. They have a session on March 22, but Novice is on a waiting list. This occurs frequently, so you need to register, if you are a novice, as soon as possible. They do have a rain policy to transfer your entry to the next FATT. I've got conflicts between now and then. Send me a PM if you are interested or have any questions.

I know of one Z06 owner who posts event info every now and then for Bay Area track events. If you go to the tracquest event, I'll be there (in a truck) doing my best to stay on the tail of the Z06's or other Corvettes! There is an event at Thunderhill coming up that may have spots - if there are, I'll send an email with the info.
I am an instructor with NASA in the VA region. They run a CMP, VIR, and Summit point as well as lowes this year. Should check them out. You'll learn alot plus get a ton of track time over a weekend for not much money.

jsupractor,
There is an event at Sears Point this weekend, $275 for 1 day or $450 for two. This is the opening event @ Sears since the remodel, wouldn't miss it for the world!
Wurthmotorsports.com is the host.

Wish I could be there this weekend, but it's Easter!
However, I was with the POC this weekend at Willow Springs, they have an EX class for non-Porsche drivers....but my only competition was a race-prepped Firebird and a BMW. Maybe some of you drivers (better than myself) might attend next time. I think I was the only the car there who do a burn out off the grid.
The ZO6 was made for Willow Springs....long straights, big sweeping turns...... I pulled a 1:38 on hoosiers---thats an average track speed of 90mph...fun but scary track.
Why should I be worried about my warranty? My dealership loves my car..rollbar, racing seats, harnesses....the service guy custom cut the door molding to fit the harnesses. I guess it depends on the dealer.
