SCCA Run Offs SPEED Channel Coverage

I just recieved the e-mail below. It looks as though my brother and I have the potential of getting some TV coverage during one of the our race's broadcast:


Congratulations, you have been selected to be part of SPEED Channel’s coverage of the 2004 SCCA National Championship Runoffs Presented by Kohler event. We believe that you have a story that is worth sharing with the viewers, and request your assistance in making this happen.

I am certain many participants recieve this, but I am also sure some do not. Oh well, it makes for a brighter Friday afternoon, that's for sure!

How is you car holding up this season, any thing major to prep for the runnoffs or just brakes and tires.

Roger, in-car cameras are available to anyone, for a price. I have heard from $2,000 to $3,500. I haven't inquired yet, but still may, but this is not really "my year." This year is for me to get experience and get something to build on.

How is you car holding up this season, any thing major to prep for the runnoffs or just brakes and tires.

So far so good; these cars are pretty stout.

Although I am beginning to worry about some things (shocks, A-arms, motors, transaxle). I haven't experienced any problems with the above mentioned items, so I hope to make it through the end of this month and maybe, just maybe, the big ARRC regional at Road Atlanta in November. Then, over the winter, I plan on either freshening the current car or stepping up to a C6, maybe.

Congrats. I put in for another interview, but as I had one last year, didn't really expect a repeat and did not get the above email this year (but did last year).
As you suspect, that email indicates you will get one of the pre-race interviews like I had last year, which will be shown sometime during the race.
The in-cars are totally different and the above email has nothing to do with that. I know of other T1 drivers who already have an in-car for this year. I'm betting SPEED will still give you one as they make more money. Not sure if the $2k or so pricetag is worth the advertisement to you.
