Stock is pretty simple and I will list with #1 as priority according to me.
The first three I feel are most important.
1. DOT legal race tires.
2. Shocks
3. Alignment
4. Front sway bar( I think )
5. Cat back exhaust
6. Air filter
7. Roll bar and harness
8. Different wheels with same dimensions. Offset can be + or - a small amount ( in the scca rule book ).
Can't think of any thing else. I really recommend that any one making a change verify it with the rule book.
Any other change can get you protested. I have seen cars protested for having a different shifter nob.
Other illegal mod. that you will find and are hard to detect.
1. Comp. program
2. Gut cats
3. Head work
4. Race fuel
At the pro solo at Ft. myers, a piece of a cat fell out the back of one of the SS cars.
Street prepared, prepared and Mod., have too may mods to mention. Got to go to the rule book.

Say it ain't so (hehe). My problem is that I don't need more power, I need to learn how to drive...
I am running in SS street tire right now.
1. After this weekend I will be getting an alignment, my very first mod! (Around 1.9-2.0 neg camber up front, max in back).
2. I've got the Hoosier rubber ready, but haven't used them yet. I will put them on after I have driven the new alignment on street rubber first (next event). (being anal so I know how each change effects the car).
I've got to say, I'm impressed with the wear on the F1SCs after the first event. Much better wear than the Dunlop SP8000s on my C4 (I need more camber there too).

I would think that you will see a limited handling increase with the alignment on street tires. But can't say for sure, because I have not done that test. You will see huge difference when you combine the Hoosiers with the alignment.
Well, our car seems to be fairly competive (Super Stock)
Here's the list of mods;
1. Koni double adjustable 28 series shocks, (custom valving)
2. Alignment
3. Car lowered and corner weighted
4. Hoosier A3S03s for dry, Kumho's Ecsta R compounds for wet
5. CCW, Circle Racing and Kodiak wheels (heaviest to lightest)
6. Borla XR-1 mufflers
7. K&N Filter
8. Thermostat
9. Lap belt brackets
And just as important...lots of seat time
Erik was considering changing the front bar, but at the moment feels it's not necessary.

The valving that Mallet runs on their Penske's may not be the best settup for autocross. Su Brude and Stan Whitney initially had Mallet Penskes, and had them revavled by Guy Enkeny (Years of autocrossing settup knowledge), and thought it was an improvement. The other benefit is that most of the Z06 in autocross that run Penskes, have Ankeny valving, thereby allowing comparison. But, for all I know the valving might be the same.
Just my 2 cents.
PS. How many tenths is the nomex and dual fire extinguishers worth?
Well it wasn't really a mistake but it was my mistake. I wanted my cake and to eat it to. You just can't do it, it's not practicle. What I mean is, I wanted an AutoX car and a Solo I track car. You are correct the Penske/Mallett's are basically set up for the track and not AutoX. And Guy does a great job on his valving. I have thought about sending the units to Guy to have them revalved and that might be in the cards for next Winter. I have managed to get around the non AutoX valving by having the double adjustables. I can tune the car for a particular track. I am going to have two codrivers, one in SS and one in ASP this coming weekend to help me sort it further. We'll see what the times tell.
The Nomex Liner actually adds a couple tenths by keeping the brain box cooler. It acts similar to GoreTex but not quite. The FE and Fire Suppression are for Track events. I take them out for AutoX. That 20# Halon actually weighs 30#'s; too heavy for AutoX. Of course, if I could aim the noozles to the rear and time it with the lights it might help in the Final Challenge run !!!!!
Yes the Sunoco GT100, 100 octane unleaded fuel IS legal. It is sold at selected Stations from the Pump and is labelled as "Federally approved for use on highways." It meets the SCCA criteria. Howard has said so. I have email confirmation.
The Sunoco GT Plus, 104 octane unleaded, IS NOT legal in SCCA Stock Solo II and is NOT federally approved for Highway use and it is not legal to dispense it into a licensed vehicle for street use.
