Both are at Mid Ohio. ALMS race is on CBS and the SWC races start at 12:00 on Sunday. Both races should be great as usual. SWC GT should be very interesting additions of some new cars, the further developments of other cars throughout the season, and some weight penalties. I can't wait. Good luck Lou and the rest of the guys carring the Corvette badge into the race. I also can't forget that GTO and John Heinricy. I don't want the Cadillacs to win only because they are kinda radical for the class, but it will be great seeing Heinricy battling with some top notch drivers (Like he isn't already one).

Is Lou the only WC driver on this forum? I know that Phil McClure is on the Corvette forum.
I race should be interesting. I love Mid-Ohio. For those of you traveling out to Mid-Ohio this weekend, stay safe and have fun!
I just checked the TV schedule and it looks like it's going to be televised live on Sunday on Speed. I hated the way that they worked it at Lime Rock. I didn't get to see the race until the following week after the race.
Schedule:
SPEED GT:
Sun., June 27, 1:00 p.m.
SPEED Touring Car:
Sun., June 27, 12:00 p.m.
Times are Eastern
It looks like ALMS is televised on CBS Sports from 2:00 - 4:00 pm Sunday.
Just wanted to remind everyone that the races are coming up today.
The Speed World Challenge Touring car race is at noon EST on Speed and the GT class directly follows it at 1 pm EST.
Heinrocket put the Caddy on row 2 in P4. That's very impressive considering that it's his first time out. Lou is P10. Don't know the particulars of qualifying. I'm just reading the qualifying results off of the Speed WC website.
SWC GT race is coming on right now. Should be another great race as usual. John Heinricy qualified P4 with Tom Oates (another SCCA club racer) qualified P5. That is amazing considering all the factory involvment in the Caddies and Audi's. Go Tom

For anyone not watching ( I don't see why you wouldn't) , there could have been a HUGE crash in the first turn, only one car got knocked out (Phil McClure). A Viper blew the engine. It must have lost all of it's oil out the exhaust pipes. I don't think I've ever seen that much smoke before. Heinrocket is in 3rd, Tom Oates in 6th and Lou G in 8th.
Heinrocket really pushed those Audi's and gave them a run for their money. I hope SCCA restricts them things as they keep running away from everyone. Congrats to Lou G for his 5th place finish and Tom Oates came in 12th after making contact with a Porsche he was racing against for 5th place. Stu Hayner also came in 15th. The development of that GTO is coming along. You will see more of that car as the season progresses. Also the Volvo's should be appearing sooner or later so you can't rule them out (even though it's way too late to start racing for championship points in them).
Those Vipers sure make a hell of a Mosquito abatement system, don't they. Did you catch that blow up? I've never seen so much smoke.
Congrats to Heinricy. A hell of a showing! One thing that I didn't realize though was that his car wasn't running the rewards weight, so that could explain some of the advantage that he had over his teammates. A hell of a showing though if you ask me.
Yeah I saw that Viper explode. Thats probally the reason for this so called hole in the ozone layer. Did you see the Dave Despain bobble head in Tony Gaples' Corvette?
If a team brings in another car they don't have to add reward weight unless it's the final 3 races of the season. Then they have to put it at the same weight as its lightest (I think it's lightest) teamate.
I don't get CBS...when will the race be on speed TV?

There might be some confusion with the way I typed my first post. The Speed World Challenge races are on Speed Channel (hence the title sponsor). After re reading my first post, I seem to have caused some confusion. Check www.speedtv.com for the re-airs. That site takes forever to load on my computer so It would be forever before I ever find it. I'm sure it's going to be on some week day afternoon.
I checked Speed Channel's schedule for the next week, and it does not look as thought it is going to be rebroadcast. I asked my brother to tape it for me, hope he did.
It was a good race: I watched it with Lance Knupp, Brad Neff (subdriver), Brad White, and Mrs. Heinricy (cough, cough, name dropper, cough, cough).
Sad not to see anyone else there, though.

We were sitting at the umbrella tables on the cement patio just before turn six.
I walked around the Corvette Coral looking for familiar cars and faces, but did not see any. I even sat in the tent for awhile hoping someone I knew would walk by. No Luck.
My bad, for not contacting someone and making prior arrangements. I thought that Brad knew where everyone was, but he didn't see anyone, either.
