spot available

this friday november 21st at MIR. My baby is in the shop for the long haul. The tech says all synchros, gears, bearings are gone...$2400 and more worth of parts, metal in the bearing. They are trying to replace the whole tranny. I am hoping the zone rep gives his blessing!! So my spot at MIR this friday is open. I paid $100 for the spot. This is 9am-5pm all day. Both lanes open. Any takers?

Paul...who did your dealer go through? It'd be nice to give my dealer a clue.

I don't know. I assumed it was through normal GM sources. He said he put in the request into the "system" and would know the next day if it's available and where it's coming from. Next day he said it's coming from Lancing since there were none in Philly. That was Friday. They got the tranny on Wednesday. Car was done on Friday morning.

Geez Mike, sorry to hear about the $$$ repair bill! . I was looking forward to seeing you on Friday and getting some tips and enjoying yer company. I am looking forward to running, but I am not pushin' 'ol blue too hard because it would be tough for me to handle those kind of repair bills AND my kid's college tuition bills.

BTW, Friday's weather forecast has improved (at least for now), so I hope it will work out - day after Turkey Day will be tougher to make.

Well, here's hoping the parts come in fast for ya!

That's what happened to me. I lost 4th gear almost completely in a matter of 1/2 hour on the way home. There were chunks of metal when they pulled the magnet through the tranny. It was covered under warranty.

Yep, we need someone else from the forum to monitor the competition between myself and Panzer to see who the slowest is! Panzer claims that I will have to work real hard to be slower than him - perhaps we should be on the "Senior Tour"!
