You will love it. I'm looking forward to checking out the new, bigger track when I get a chance to go back - it should be sweet. While there, ask them to give you a few laps in a Radical

You'll love it. Great, great, great instructional staff there. I went last June - before the track expansion had opened, and spent an entire week (level 1 and level 2).
Enjoy!!!

You'll love it. I was there last October and really enjoyed myself. I received an e-mail from them recently and they do have a few '06 Z06 this time. It would be fun to try one of those on the track. I also recommend after your class to take I-15 north out of Las Vegas into the Valley of Fire. There were were many opportunities to practice some of the techniques they taught.
This route was not available to me prior to the course because of snow at Loveland and Vail passes - hence Janet's comment.
Spring Mountain is a challenging technical course - especially with its additional "whale tail" of tight curves. Loved every minute of it! With my gearing being so tall, I lived in second and third gear.
Jim Lembo: the MK II splitter survived!
On the way homeward to Denver, we, the Pit Boss and me, went via I-15 and I-70. Talk about drop dead gorgeous scenery! At times it was hard to focus on the sweeping curves.
Ron you need to change your brake pads, I put some Porterfield R4-S pads in my Z06 and they worked great. We worked them pretty hard on Sunday since I ran in advanced, T.C. drove it in intermediate, and Cindy drove it in Novice. They only got to cool down during the beginer session for 20 minutes.

Hi Joe;
Yeah we fried the brakes but I don't know if the pads you used are produced for the 06Z06. I'll check. Right now the car is at the dealer's. They said that it was covered under the warranty. We shall see. :=)

Joe you are not going to believe this: GM replaced the rotors and pads under the warranty. I only had 3500 miles on it. They told me they would only do it this time. I never mentioned the R word.
I tried one track day in March with the stock setup and felt it unsafe on a course that I consider only moderately challenging on brakes.
Yesterday I returned to the same track with stainless lines, Motul fluid and Carbotech pads still on street tires (delaying race rubber until there are more options).
Brakes were awesome! They seemed completely unfazed by each of the 3 20-minute sessions. I was running with a Corvette Club - dozens of Hoosiers to be found in the Advanced Group of mostly C5's and a few C4 race cars - we were running pretty hard so I'm pleased to say the least.
