It's that time, I can't make up my mind. Should I go with Drag Radial or some good tires. What Are DR's like for every day driving???? How much should I expect to pay for some BFG DR's. Do they make a tires to match for the front? Will they still handle alittle?
Can you guys help me out with some ideas? Thanks Rick

I don't advise anyone using them for everyday use. They don't last very long & are terrible on wet roads especially when they are wore down a little,I know from first hand experience, almost looped it.
go with the nitto55r drag radial,, very good in the rain and hooks like a beatch!! trust me , you will thank me later,, i went through allthis bs already!!!
go with the Nittro 555RII's the hook very well on the street. At the track you'll only lose a slight amount of 60' time. Stiff sidewall so you can still take the car to top speed. The way to go.

Very sticky, and feel great in the turns. Stock tires will not hold the road when it's below 60 degrees, and the Nittos have eliminated all instances of active handiling coming on in temps as low as 40 F so far.
Only down side, is the increase in road debris being thrown up against the car.
I'm running 285 x 18 front and 305 x 18 rear on CCW classics
Hold the phone... The Nitto 555R2's can be driven in sub 40 degree weather without problems? I live in NY, and refuse to leave my car in the garage during the winter, I love just can't let it sit there, but Im really worried about running these tires on cold roads (Ive always put snow tires on my cars but snows on a Z06? no way).. I have very good self control when it comes to driving the car, but if your saying the 555R2's are significantly better the the F1s, Im going to have to save the F1s for the track..
BTW, how are the 555R2's in the rain? (I also drive my Z in the rain).. Don't worry, there is one time when I will not drive my Z, and thats when the fluffy stuff makes an appearance..
go with the G Force KD for an all around tire. You have good traction in dry and can drive in the rain normally. I have BFG DR's in the rear now because " it never rains in California", where I live, but if I lived anywhere else I would not buy the drag radials for a daily driver. It's like driving on ice when it rains here once a year.
Like the others posted, Nitto RIIs are the way to go. To answer your question Angry tiTTy (John), in cold temps they will spin more then they would on a hot road, but still way less thanF1s will. They are soft so if you can heat them up a bit its still a huge improvement over F1s. I think F1s on a cold night are scary even with stock power. With an SC car, forget it.
In the rain they are fine - I dont drive my car fast in the rain anyway, but I've never felt unsafe on my R2s in the wet.
I had thought long and hard about tire choice, and the 555R2's went on the car primarly as a DE and cold dry weather choice. The Z is my second car, so the truck goes out when rain is expected.
My #2 choice was the Toyo RA-1 which comes with a deeper tread and more channels than the R2's. They are also a treadwear 50 which is 1/2 that of the R2's. From what I understand, the RA-1's are the tire used in Speed World Challenge. Stock tread depth is used as a wet tire, and shaved 1/2 depth is used for dry.
For maximum grip, in any weather I'd have gone RA-1's unshaved.
I have also heard that there is a version of our stock Goodyears in a much softer racing compound that might work well also.
Thanks guys, I will have my TT till about mid February at which point it goes back, so the Z can be left in the garage but I love it too much to leave it there.. Granted if the roads have any hint of ice on them, its staying in the garage, no way in hell I will risk crashing it.. As for the tires, I really want something that will hookup better then these F1s, Ive been to the track twice already and they just spin like madddd.. I can't even beat a 2.4 60' which is leaving me with HORRIBLE times.. Granted I can't drive for the life of me, so its not entirely the cars fault.. Ive been reading up on these 555R2s and I like what I read, they seem to grab pretty damm well and can be ran daily (need something that I won't die with in the rain)... Only one thing I was thinking about was leaving the F1s on the front and running the R2s on the rear.. Bad idea?
