Well, after waiting all these weeks for the H/C, Clutch, rollbar and S/C install, I finally picked it up at 5pm yesterday. Just enough time to come home and change to the DR's ( can't use the ET Streets until I figure out how to get these wheels from rubbing or get different wheels) and get out to the track to try it out. Didn't want to run it too hard after all the mods and the track was in awful shape so I knew with the DR's, hook up was gonna be next to impossible. Wasn't worried about times just a few passes to see what she would do.
Well, while in the staging area the 'check engine' light came on but I figured it probably wasn't too big a deal after all the mods I've done, but decided to run even easier than I'd planned, just in case.
Tried to go easy on take off, but still spun crazy like (2.16 60') and then it got worse. Couldn't engage 2nd without slowing way down , nothing but grind
Only ran 3 passes just to play with the top end a little (2nd was gone).
12.881, 12.773, and 12.430 with mph ranging from 118 to 121.
Tuner ran a scan this morning and the fuel trims were lean plus a MAF code of some kind (P0101) that they are gonna have to research a little. They fixed the lean codes with edit but couldn't do anything about tranny. We both figure that the syncros for 2nd are wasted. Will take it to the dealership on Monday morning and see if they have time to fix it before BG.
I will say that once you get it passed 2nd, it goes crazy with power
3rd and 4th were fairly heavy spins and I was granny shifting just to go easy.
So much for Friday night
Sorry to hear about your bad night...I'm starting to get a snychro problem myself as it kicks out of second gear under normal driving but not during racing...All of your horsepower I'm sure accentuates the problem...Good luck...
Greg

oops, forgot to add this.
On the way home a Cobra (maybe 2001 or 2002) pulled up next to me on the highway at about 65 mph. I think he saw the shoe polish #'s still on my windows and got froggy. Normally, I come home from the track fairly slow so that I won't attract attention, but I was so pissed that when he gunned it I took off......no problem at the top end, at least....10 or 15 seconds later I was at 170 and couldn't see his headlight in my mirror.
At least it helped me vent a little
Glad to hear you got your car! I am gonna have to start thinking about sig ideas as of now.
Being the perfectionist that you seem to me to be, it will only be a matter of time before car and driver become one.
Last night there was a get together I was invited to. A bunch of nice guys with all sorts of different cars just BS'ing. I met this nice guy named Lloyd, he has a 2001 Z06 with a procharger and he has a lingenfelter head and cam package, 345 Nitto's on the back and just way too many mods to remember. I believe his SAE rwhp was around 650 or so. I watched this guy get on it from a roll, first toast, second toast, third backed out of it after tail slide, 4th still spinning, needless to say I was impressed. I was into self preservation mode last night and declined his kind offer of a ride.
Enjoy the beast, and be nice to Cobra's

Don, thanks. There is no doubt the the H/C + S/C is an unbelievable hp combo. The power is almost scary (I like it like that though).
Getting the power to the road is gonna be the toughest part I think. I'm really looking forward to doing it again with the ET Streets and , of course a second gear .
I really think No Mercy and ZDog have the right idea with tubbing and 345's. That's gotta help quite a bit, I think.
As Ric says...practice, practice, practice
I will await your amazing artistic style on the new sig !
Thanks, Kathy & Hummp. I knew I wasn't gonna be ready for the NHRA finals just because of the new mods but the second gear thing kinda bummed out a long awaited night for me. Anyway, will get 2nd gear fixed for sure, just hoping I can get it done before BG. Would love to take a few passes at Beech Bend.
One thing about the ATI...it does spool a little, much like a turbo, so all the power is not there right at takeoff. Should make it a little easier to launch (with the right rubber, of course).
