This is the 3rd time I posted this . I can't find the posts the other 2 times I put it on this board. I did so today. Forgive me if it is the 3rd time you've seen it. I haven't read any posts/replies. I went last night, air temp 54 degrees. I ran 13.34 or so( 100 th is the or so) at 2.21 60' with 108 mph. Next 1 hour later was 13.31 or so at 2.24 60' with 110 mph. Is this OK?? I calculate that if I had an OK 60' time of 2.0 I would have run 12.9-12.8 each time. I have been told the mph is low. True or not. Do I need to have the car looked at??? HELP, let me know. I figure 12.8 is pretty average to good with a 60' of 2.0. By this cal I would run 12.3 with a 60' of 1.7. That seems pretty fast. It looks OK to me. Dr.Bigg BTW it sure was fun driving the z06 instead of the mustnang gt. Not comparable. Dr.Bigg

Your mph definitely seems low, usually 114-115 is about average. Where is this track located? High altitude tracks can knock your power down also. What year Z is it? Any mods? Were these runs on stock tires? If so, a 2.0 60' is not too bad. Good times at any track are usually the result of lots of practice launching, shifting, etc.

Track is in orlando florida. My fastest mph was 110 mph. I was on street tires. Best 60' was 2.21 at 108 mph. Ok so we established mph is low. What do I do?? Does this mean there is something wrong with the car?? Also I have the engine light for the abs coming on and the traction control light too. I dont have a computer so no codes known, but the lights are on and it says service traction control/ ABS ,,,now. what to do with low MPH. Did I get a ragged on car?? I don't think the car is all that ragged on. It is in decent shape , not show car. It had 19,000 miles when I bought it. It is a 2002. I put almost 2000 miles on it in the last month just drivig it around whenever I can. Dr.Bigg
Did you turn the traction control off? or at least run in competitive driving mode (push the button down on the center console and hold it for five seconds and you will hear a beep and CDM will be displayed on your Digital Info. Center just above the steering column).
If not I would say that is your problem. If you are drag racing (i.e. doing burn outs etc...) w/out turning it off you can screw up your clutch and TC system.

Both on ET Streets and Skinnies.
a 2.0 60' would get you down to about a 13.0..Your mph IS low. Make sure you shift as close to redline as possible, & as FAST as possible...That & your 60' could be what's killing your ET&MPH. you can check for any codes in the DIC. Do a search & there's plenty of threads to look over.
As RobZ said-plenty of practice is required...Good luck! Ron
Dr. Ron usually you would deduct 2 tenths off your 1/4 mile time for every 1 tenth of your 60' above 2.0. That actually holds true under 2.0 but not as true. This is not scientific but it is pretty accurate for data extrapolation. I was in competitive driving mode and no lights were on at the strip. Yes my 60 ' is bad but it shouldnt effect my mph. I think mph is usually pretty true bad run or not unless you actually take your foot off the gas. My second run I shifted pretty well. I think maybe the car needs a look over. Could a tuner tell me if there was something wrong or what?? I have no experience actually tuning cars. I would like my car to be as fast as possible while remaining stock, for now. Any input is welcome. I dont usually write in 3rd person! I want the black beast to be a beast. I know you guys know your sh&t and I am just learning. THANKS, Dr.Bigg
I don't remember wheel hopping. I really dont. I did dpin so by that the mph should be higher. This is leading me to believe the car is running slow. anythng else, any other input guys??? Dr.Bigg
I will bet your car is fine. Seat time is the answer. Your probably short shifting your car. Take 50 runs and then let us know how your doing before we blame the car. As you know weather conditions play a big role as well. Weather can make more than a .5 difference and driver can make more than a second difference.

I agree! If something is wrong with the car, she'll let you tell you louder eventually, and as far spinning, I did say it can be higher mph if it is driven really good on every other aspect, as far as shifting, revs , ect. Shiffting slow is just like missing a shift which would lower mph. Now If you spin off the start and then it boggs then your mph wouldn't be high either.
Do it like robz says, 50 tries would tell you better, I had a lot of drag racing under my belt from my stock mustang GT, and this Z06 was just another diffrent animal, Im still practicing!
Sounds like more driving is the answer. I was mainly worried because of the mph. It was my first time at the track in over 3 months. I used to go 2 times a week for the whole last year. I have lots of drving experience but that is with the Mustang gt. I find it is easier to hook up the vette. I was bad with street tires and the stang. drag radials I hooked ok. I race at orlando spped world AKA orlando spin world. Not many good 60' times there. I did get the warning of "service traction control and service abs" again driving home from work today. It stayed on the whole time. It sounds like the car needs to be taken in for that anyway. Dr. Bigg

You're probably right about the ABS and TC. I'd try pulling up some codes, see what might be there.
