What is the operating range for coolant and oil? What would be considered high temps? Dangerous temps? What are some things to watch out for, performance-wise?
Thanks...

Here is the criteria as it works in Hot Texas with a lot of folks I have seen.
If you have never been on a road course with any car and have not done any auto-crossing then there should not be an issue.
If you have done a fair amount of Auto crossing and getting the car sideways is not a problem then on the track there could be a potential for running high oil temps.
I my experience I have yet to see a newbie without any experience (go-kart, auto-cross, etc.) start in the novice group and go solo running in an intermediate to advance group. Humans just don't work that way. Pilots seem to adapter quicker then most, because they work in a high speed environment and have to anticipate things, Helicopter guys are good at this stuff.
Please don't think because you have a Z06 you are going to blow the doors off over the Porsche guys. The Porsche club promotes tracking while it seems most Corvette Clubs promotes waxing and going to Hooters. The basic formula in going fast on the track is seat time, seat time and more seat time. So on the track as a whole Porsche owners will be faster then most Z06 owners because of their experience. The folks with experience undestand this well and will not think less of you if you have a fast car and can not keep up with a lower power car. The Z06 is harder to drive fast then some other cars.
Leave you ego at the grid, listen to your instructor and plan to do a number of these events. In time you will be fast and oil temps, brake pads, rotors, tires, and a good seat and harness will be an issue. For the next couple of events just make sure everything is in working order. The F1 are good tires and the stock brake pads are great for a beginner.
Have fun. You will be in formation over load a first, listing to the instructor, learning the line, applying full gas at the apex, braking at the braking zone, tracking out, watching traffic and flags.
