Using rear wheels/tires on front?

Has anybody tried this? I was considering utilizing the 18x10.5 stock wheels all the way around. Someone w/ a T-1 Z06 told me it would work with Hoosier 305/30/18's without rubbing but wanted to check here before I did anything. I kind of wonder about the difference in offset.

Thanks in advance.

All the SCCA ASP & SM2 Solo I & Solo II guys run the 305/30x18 hoosiers on the front.

They then run either 315/35x17 or 335/30x18 on the rear.

Most use either CCW or Circle Wheels with max allowable SCCA stock offset of +0.25". You can use stock wheels but the CCW & CW wheels are strongr and lighter.

The 315/30x17 require an additional 1/8 hub centric spacer plate to clear the rear spring perch under compression.

The 335/30x18 require a mini tub in the rear.

All the tires are the same overall diameter at 25.6"

The 35 aspect ratio of the 315/35x17 allow the car to squat better under hard acceleration and aids traction and corner exit speed.

Running the 305/30x18 in the front equalizes the F/R contact patch ratio and brings the car to a neutral handling condition reducing the factory engineered understeer. The lower aspect ratio in the front aids turn in, steering reponse, front grip and steering modulation by reducing side wall flex.

BTW I JHH a rear set of polished CCW's for mounting the 315/35x17 Hoosiers for sale at $700 + shipping

Thanks for the reply Don. I knew you would have some good advice. The reason I am considering it is I now have 2 sets of OEM track wheels.
