What size V710's do folks run in SS/ASP,etc.

See all this talk and may mount a set on my stock rims but I don't see them having any size that fits.
Looks like only hoosier really works with the 275/40/17 and 305/30/18 combo.
Am I missing something?

I ran last year with 275/40-17 front and 315/35-18 rears. These fit just fine on the stock rims.
Some guys are running the 295/40s in the front. I may try it this year. Be wary of the front fenders, especially if you've lowered the car, that was the big reason I didn't try that size last year.
This is for SS class. I think ASP guys may be using different diameter wheels. I've seen 18x10.5s in the front and 17x11s in the rear with 335 section widths.
The first year I ran with V700s, same size in the front, but a 305/30 rear. You could really tell the difference between mine and someone on Hoosiers or V710s; mine ran out of rpm much sooner. I'm not sure I didn't have a slight adantage in acceleration, though, due to better gearing. Overall, though, the V700s weren't as good as the others.

I'm running the 295's up front and 305's out back on stock-size CCW wheels - works great. My car is lowered not quite an inch, and I have no rubbing problems in front. I can't swear that it's any faster to run 295's up front, but it works well for me.

So the 315/35/18 combo in the rear isn't to tall?

Would this 295 and 315 combo work better than hoosiers 305/30/18 and 275/40/17 combo do folks think?

You can also run 17s all around if you want. I run 275s upfront and 315s in the rear with CCW Classics.

I though just bought a set of CCW SP20s and those will be 18s all around with 295 up front and 305s in the rear. I am running Pilot Sport Cups with these. With the Pilot Sport Cups I should be able to give a good idea on how the 2 sets of wheels/tires compare.

Oh and you can go crazy trying to figure all this out. I asked the same question as you and got many different answers. Finally I just bought a set of tires and if I dont like them I know they will be worn out in a few track days so I can experiment with a different set.

I basically have a set of CCW 18x11 and 12's with Nitto NT-01's on them currently. They still have a lot of tread left so I wanted to mount race tires on other rims.

This way timing wise I can change all worn tires at once and go with toyo's RA1's on stock rims and hoosiers 305/295 combo on the CCW's.

The height difference for the V710's is huge.

Anyone for track day events ever run the V710 275 in the front and hoosier 305/30/18 in the rear??
That is about equal height so shouldn't upset car setup which was done with nitto's (which are same diameter tires front and rear).

The other issue is to keep the ratio of tire sizes from front to rear close so the computer doesn't go into cadiac arrest!

This is a problem with the C6 Z06, but they work fine with a set of C5 Z06 wheels and race tires, from what I have seen.

I bought an extra set of stock C-5 Z06 wheels from "Anaheim Wheel" (typically they are exchanges for chromies) for $600 and they were in perfect condition. I checked to make sure alll four were "Speedlines" too.

Anyway I mounted the V710 275's in front and 315's in the rear works great for "SS" and open track events on my C5 Z06.

Went with the hoosiers.

Will try them out and then hopefully new compound will be available.
