What are you all doing to get these Bad A$$ 60 ft. times???
I am having trouble launching...that is why my best is only a 12.72@113. My best 60 ft. is a 2.02. I am seeing guys that have pulled 1.7 and 1.8s....I have my stock tires on. I just can't seem to get a sub 2 second 60 ft. It's aggravating as heck. Any info. would help. Thanks guys!!!!
I am launching at about 2800-3200 RPMs however I either bog,or spin real bad most of the time, partly because I'm overly anxious..but at times,I think I did an awesome launch and I get my timeslip and it's only a 2.05 or 2.1. I don't get it! In my 2000 SS Camaro I was pulling 1.9s.
I pulled a 1.74 on BFG Drag Radials. If you do not want to burn your clutch a little, you will have the problems you are speaking of. Launch at 4200 RPM's, and ride your clutch very slowly until you feel full engagement. This is bad on your clutch. I can get 1.8's all day long at 3000 RPM's without riding the clutch.
You have to learn to ride the clutch but just a bit, the trick is in throtle tipin. you need enough to not bog but feed it in gradgualy after the car is rolling to full throtle slower than feels right, it feels wrong in the car when you do it right. Your time slip will reward you with a better 60'. Z06's are differant launching on street tires than most. DR are easyer on your clutch, and easer to learn to get good 60' times. None of it seems so very easy to me. Ric

I couldn't break below 2 seconds until I put the Bfg's on. Getting below 1.9 for me still depends on the track prep.
I try to get on first thing after the rails and funny cars because they work harder to get the box ready for those guys
Re: What are you all doing to get these Bad A$$ 60 ft. times???
1.86 is my best 60' (Stock tires) on a well prepped track, I run 1.9 - 2.0 on "bad" tracks all day long.
Practice is the answer, and trial and error changes to tire pressure and launch RPM based on track conditions. Generally I recommend:
22 PSI pressure
dry burn-out of 2-3 seconds
launch at 2800 rpm's
don't dump the clutch, release it and increase rpm's as the car hooks.
Did I mention practice?

Are you guys with drag radials running on your stock rims? I just installed eradispeed +1 rotors on my car, and they look awsome! But theres NO WAY i'll get a smaller than 18" rim on the back. Is there drag radials in an 18" size? All i've seen is 17" 315's I think.
I believe 17" is the largest drag radial made. Any bigger and you lose so much sidewall as to render them kinda useless.
