I've been using speed bleeders on my stock calipers for the last 2 years and really like them because I'm a 1 man shop, but I'm upgrading to Wilwood SL6 Calipers up front. Will the speed bleeders work with the new calipers? What size do I need?
I just open the bleeders and gravity does the rest.
or if in a rush.
Keep an old can of half full fluid and put some fish tank hose from the bleeder and you can do it yourself. Just pump the pedal with the hose in the old fluid.
Right, speedpup, after years of trying both "Push." Release" and gravity draining, I finally hit on cracking the bleeders and pushing the pedal myself. WHAT A RELIEF!!!!
3rd gear syncro cracked it is done and back together. No signs of heat in the tranny so the DRM cooler is working fine. Putting in upgraded dogs and fork. New third gear also which was rounded a tad. Probably from me jamming it with no syncro.
Although it's been a while, I wanted to follow up on this post and correct some information found here.
The speedbleeder replacement for the stock calipers is part #SB1010 and on the Speed Bleeder site ***edited*** says that part # SB1428 is for all Wilwood Calipers.
I've got the LGM Wilwood kit that Wilwood SL6 full width calipers with stock rotors and the Stock size bleeders (#SB1010) fit perfectly while the 1428s are way too small.
I can post some pics if anyone needs them, but wanted to put that info out incase anyone else is looking to buy some bleeders.

On the Wilwoods you have the insert in the caliper then the bleed screw. With the bigger one you may have replaced the insert no the bleed screw. Insert is easier to replace and will take the wear from constant bleeding. Just a guess.
John, thanks for the tip, i didn't even notice the 2 parts of the bleeders. The insert is the 1/4" size for SB1428, so Speed Bleeder and Wilwood were right and I was wrong. I guess it was going to happen sooner or later
Same thing happen at VIR after 140 miles rebuilt again They say it may be the clutch draging I have no clue. After driving the car for 58,000 miles on two different trannies now I can't go 150 Didn't decide on the clutch so I fixed the tranny again and drove it on the trailer. Now I am afraid to drive it at $2,000. a pop. May turn waxer Probably go with a 7.25" Quarter Master which will be super light weight.
