Your opinion re: diff swap
Buddy of mine owns a C6 Mallett Hammer. This is a Z51 C6 with a sweet cam, head job, new exhaust, engine tune, Pensky shocks & other suspension tweeks. The final drive ratio is the same as a stock C6. He tracks the car about 10-times per year (VIR & Summit Point).
He's thinking of swapping out his rear gears to get it around the track a bit quicker and make it a bit more fun on the street too. So here are the questions:
Other than an increase in RPM's at every MPH & bad gas mileage, what's the downside?
How do you predict results before buying to assess the value of the swap? Is there a way of calculating expected revs?
