Well I now have a Lotus Elise in the garage next to the Z06. I have had a lot of fun with the Z06, but I want to try some thing different. So now I will track the Elise against all you Corvette guys. I will be slower, but that is OK with me. Faster lap times is not necessarily where it's at. Now I have an excuse to be slower against guys getting better and better like Falcon.
So now my 2004 Z06 is For Sale. I hope it finds a nice home to some one at this Forum. There are many guys here than can attest to the quality of my car.
I'm curious too about what you think of the overall feel of the Elise. It has to feel very very small on the inside. The seats are pretty much right next to each other. How does it accelerate? And yes, please post pictures. If you can, post a picture of the Elise next to the Z06. That way we can really appreciate how little they are. Thanks, and god luck with your new toy!
On shorter more technical road courses the Elise might run comparable lap times to the Z06. I think on bigger tracks like Road America horsepower will make the Z06 this clear winner... but then again if the Elise can go thru the Kink without lifting...
Have fun.

I recently had the pleasure of running with an Elise on the track.Pacific Raceways In Kent WA.is a fast track with some tight turns and fast straights.I followed him out of turn 10 at 35mph onto a 1/4mi straight.I was impressed with how quick it was.He matched my acceleration in 3rd up to about 80,then I had to back off.He topped out max speed at 120.The lower part of the track has some tight hairpins and the Lotus really shined. He outcornered me and accelerated out of the corners much faster.Overall he turned better times.Really cool car I want one,but I still wouldn't trade my Z06.
Elise is fun as a go cart, but you will regret getting rid of the corvette for it, its as functional as tits on a bull, and harder to get into then any car i've ever sat in. And I weigh 140 lbs
We did a cruise through the hill country here last weekend that was put together by some members of the local elise club. There were 5 elises in the cruise along with 7 or so vipers, 4 Z06s, 2 testarosas, a lamborghini diablo, nsx, mitsu evo and an s2000. A good protion of the cruise was twisting hilly 2 lane roads. The elises seem to be very nimble and performed very well. They certainly held their own. In the straights where power could be utilized they left a little to be desired but still didn't do to bad. The car is 1900 lbs with 190 crank horse power. Not too bad for essentially a 2 seater go cart. I can imagine they are a pretty neat car to cruise around in.

Here are a couple of links from our cruise that has some pics of the elises.

I think that is accurate--it may be a better track car than a Z06, but I could not imagine trying to drive one to work on a pretty day. I sat in one at the auto show and man, is it small!!!. I think they are very, very impractical (tight, stiff, noisy and small) if very quick at the track.
At local auto-x well-driven Elises are not beating the Z06's. Owners are saying they have some handling issues but I don't recall what. Haven't seen any national results yet.
