Z06 is going to Willow Springs this Saturday!

This is going to be my first time at the track. Some friends from the BMW M3 board have a group of like 35 guys going..mostly M3's and Porsche...i think im going to be the only Z! Can't wait!!!

Any suggestions? A couple things I thought of

I was wondering if I should lower the car on the factory bolts before this weekend? Or should I go to the track with the car completly stock and get a real feel for it in its stock form?

Should I get an LS1 edit to help with setting fan thermostat settings? ..even though my car is stock except for Zip Tie mod and Corsa Exhaust.

We're gonna have great Video footage and pics ......stay tuned

Mark

Hi Mark! I am sure a lot of guys will chime in here who track their vettes.

You have a great car right out of the box for the track-if it's your first time, I would do your safety checks and go "as is" and get a feel for how much vette you have. Here's a check list of items you might want to bring to the track:

DE Checklist

Learning the line and apex's, where to brake, etc will be your focus more than anything your first time out.

Have fun and be safe-I love going to the track, have no idea what I was doing for fun before...!

Mark, you are going to love Willow Springs, it is a great track. It will be extremely HOT!!!

#1 take care of you. Make sure that you drink plenty of fluids and try to stay in the shade when possible.

#2 try to ride with someone that knows the track well, before you go out in your car. T3 & T9 can be tricky.

#3 watch all the temps. Keep an eye on your tires, both pressure and if they start getting greasy. There is nothing wrong with running only 10-15 minutes of a 20 minute session. Don't forget to add 1/2 to a full quart of oil.

Your Z06 came great right from the factory. It might be best to see what your car can do before you start the mods.

Have fun.

what jannet said..

and

turn 1 is faster than you think
turn 3 is off camber and can/will spin cars.. late apex.. straight up the hill
turn 6 has a bump at the top of the hill.. try and be as straight as you can going over it

dont be afraid of 8.. a stock z06 will hold

man is it going to be hot.. good luck.
