J-rod, I saw the video of that run, very impresive TRUCK, and a hell of a driver. Seen some other unlikely fast cars out there also, your warning is well founded for shure!! Ric
I assume the truck was on slicks. Big difference there. Give that Z06 some ET Streets/Drags and a decent launch and it will be neck-and-neck all the way down the track.
Still...its a very quick truck.

We've got a stock looking VW bug that runs low 11's at our track. You never know WHAT a car will run until they hit it.
But if you consider that the truck is running 2 seconds or more quicker than stock, that is impressive. To put it in perspective, what does it take to run 10's in a Vette?
Wow, best to say nothing when you don't know who's listening!! There's a faster gun out there, at any place and time. Best to MYOB, as Ann Landers would say! Bill
Ford always needs boost to stay with a chevy, NO BIG DEAL, so what if the vette lost, its all stock vette to full out ford. Send any moded vette and say good night to that ford
I have a buddy of mine with a Dodge R/T with a stroker, HUGE Paxton, and squeezes and slicks of course...He runs 12.00's @ 121 consistently...He won't race me on the street though claiming suspension problems...But you never know about the competition...

Shocking, simpl shocking...........if I dare say so..............
And Ah does!!!!!!.
Wes, what you think the SVT was running??...chip/headers/pulley/?????
For a 11'xx....it had to have more.......don't you think??.
The '06 appeared to leave a BIT soft.......

I'm pretty sure thats me at Cecil County Raceway Dec of 2001. I'm pretty sure I bogged it off the line. I had trouble getting used to a track that hooked that day. I also had a problem with wheel hop shifting to second. That Lightning still woulda whipped me on a good run, and I 'm sure he had plenty of Mods, I know he was running on ET Streets.
Needless to say I have cured my traction problems (with BFG DR's) and ran a Best Et of 12.09@114.5 @ the Vette Viper Shoot Out in April @ Maryland International Raceway.
Yeah, I saw that video.... I'm pretty sure that the truck is running slicks.. The guy had all kind of mods for the truck. They are talking about this race all over at the lightnings forum. I raced a modded lightnings with street tires last Friday, and he's no match for my almost stock 01 Z06. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=373488
At the track with full slicks, some of them are very fast. So, don't be too surprise if you get beat by one.
Cool Video! I watched a stock Lightning take a stock C-5 Friday at the drags, very close but the Ford won. I watched a good looking girl in her 2002 EB Z06 turn 2 14.9's she was bummed, I thought she was hitting traction control with the poor times but she had it turned off, then I explained the competition mode to her.
