Re: 1/4 mile goal

Robz,, Hmmmm that is close and yep I think it's the converter.. Iv'e seen you drive and I don't think shifting was a problem ..

I would love to see a 1.4 anything, but I don't the that will happen with an A4and a 3.42 rear...

Ralph,, 11.01 You are right there... One more time... Congrats on a great run... would like to see the splits on that run....

Ernie

Ernie: Here it is - ho hum launch and shifting

60' = 1.763
330 = 4.868
1/8 = 7.335
mph = 100.85
1000 = 9.360
1/4 = 11.018
mph = 137

Earlier I really was on my way to the 10's but I missed 4th gear resulting in a very long shift to 4th and coming off and having to re-build boost in 4th

60' = 1.662
330 = 4.69
1/8 = 7.202
mph = 90.34
1000 = 9.481
1/4 = 11.266
mph = 129.21

Yeah: I was kicking ass on the modded crotch rocket I was racing until I missed my shift to 4th. By the time I got it in gear he was by me and I was off-boost. He ran 10.64 @ 134 and I had a 10th on him at the 330 ft. That would have been my 10's run for sure. crappy driving. People who don't try to do this with stick shifts have no idea how hard it is....

I'll get it next time.

So with the 3.42 your 60 is great. Your whole combo seems to be workin very well.

Turbo is way more difficult than N/A. But at least I don't bring spare belts and bags of ice to the track like my SC buddies do....

Re: 1/4 mile goal

Robz, Now the question is, do I change to a 3.73 rear?? This setup seems to work great, but I would like to be able to get off the line a little harder, I can adjust the tire pressure if I spin... What do you think??

I have the rear, just waiting for Dave to get the gears...

Ralph, Just to let you know, I never did make the 10's with my car (6spd) 11.07 was my best... so yes It's darn hard, unlike some people we Know

I'll let you know when I make it Ernie! Good luck with the gears. I'm going to change mine as well - this Winter - which will be here any week now!

Ernie,
If you haven't ordered the 3.73's yet, PM me, I have a great source for them at the best price I have seen anywhere. HTH,

Tough call. I was chatting with Dave about it. Most of those guys think they will help BUT I hate to mess with a combo that is dialed in. I would prolly see how fast she'll go with the 3.42's in better air first.

Re: 1/4 mile goal

Robz, I was thinking the same thing, I can still have them put the gears in the case, and see what she will do in cool weather, then next Spring change them out...

Jub-Jub,,, All it takes is ONE good run and some practice... Like Golf, you make that one good shot and your right back at it.. But you have a good Goal, keep digging and keep us posted..
