12.4 Am I Slow 86 Degrees

First I wolud like to say its good to be back in the saddle again, seen so many people leave with out of the dealership.

Took the car to the track and it was hot is 12.4 bad.

Depends on how hot it was, DA, etc. Was your clutch slipping, tires squeeling? Traction control ON or were you in Competitive Mode?

What is your RACE WEIGHT?

Full tank of gas vs 1/4 for racing.....

I bested a 11.9 with a Forged 402, so I thin 12.4 is respectable.....

Also, what RPMs are you launching at? Is there any track prep with VHT?

Lots of factors that can cause what you think is slow. Such as HEADWIND?

I think you are ok, but I am not an expert...... Just what I learned along the way.....

86 DEGREES, track was in bad shape, it was import day. Tried launch around 3500 rpms bogged a little.
I just saw on the net people running mid 11's totally stock and wanted to know if my skills are no longer. Track conditions would hurt my time but a whole second I was going to buy a cobalt

3500, bogged. Were you in COMPETITION MODE? I have set myself up fopr failure before, running with Traction Control ON by mistake. Try launching at a higher RPM in increments. Try 4000 next time. Slip the clutch a tad. If you just dump it, your tires will most likely spin. What I learned from Post 1 -100, SEAT TIME makes a difference.

My first track days were rough. 2.3 60's. Got that down to 1.9 best. Original runs were 13s. Best stock was about 12.7
Forged, 11.9. So, give yourself some slack and growing room. If that don't work, throw some big twins on it and make up in trap speed and time what you lack in launch.
