Are 275/40 17in bfg/dr enough to hold the Z?

I used to own a 98 ss camaroan I have a set of almost newe bfg/dr mounted on a set of factory ss rims. they are 275/40 17s will they be enough to hold the z or do ineed to sell and go for a bigger tire. Also does anyone run a true drag slick , and if so what size? Thanks in advance for the help.

From my experience, no. If they were the M/T ET street radials, then that would be MUCH better, and they would work at stock power levels.
I've tried different brands and sizes of drag radials on my car over the last 4 years and am finally going to a bias ply slick next time out. Keep in mind that my car is far from stock, and I am running a 3.73 rear. IMO the M/T radials are the stickiest ones out there and should work very well on a stock Z. Next time out I'll be running M&H Racemasters, 26x12" on a 16x11 rim and bias ply skinnies up front. Hope to drop 4 tenths off my 60' time and twice that off the 1/4 mile et,,,,,we shalll see!
