Well I don't have any new pictures from Tracy so I imaging there is still plastic around the rods and pistons. Keep me posted on the arrival of your new\old rear end.

Re: Ernie King & Zturd beware

Well guys, since my Z is still (still-still) under construction...I packed up the Silverado to go whip up on a few Mustangs and C5's last night but the track (Gainsville) was so crowded and backed up we had to just turn around and come back home. The air was high 50's with 50% humidity. The highlight of the night was a GTO giving me a thumbs up for the truck as he zoomed by on the highway. That was a 6.5 hour waste of time and $35 gas.

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...e/DSC01206.jpg

That was going to be my last cold air run with the 5.3 iron block. Looking into putting the same LS6 stroker in this guy with another cam to go with the tranny\411 posi\3400 stall.

Ernie, Jimbo, Zturd...we need a repair update soon on your vette's

Re: Ernie King & Zturd beware

I guess I'll start, first the Rear is still in NJ, as of today... Second the New Tranny Cooler (Thanks to RPM) seems to work just fine, been driving it around and so far it has not been over 175 degrees,

That's it for now, car still runs good..

Pit,
Check your home email. Car will be up and running tomorrow, just with open headers!

Re: Ernie King & Zturd beware

Ernie, Jimbo,
got both of your email's and updates. Let me know what gives on both vette's. My home email is down..use the work email bpittman@claryassoc.com

Shopping for my LS6 block now..want to get this short block built and going soon. Pete sent me some head\cam info as well as Ed Curtis (he has a thing going with ETP). I want to use the one that has the most experience with the 383 stroker so I can get the head\cam combo right the first time. I changed this cam 3 times already...trying to squeeze another couple tenths out of it. The last one I snuck in on the weekend to try and get one up on our buddies..LOL. Went from dead hooking to too much torque and wheel spin.

Re: Ernie King & Zturd beware

Hey guys,
The car is back together and back home in the barn. Just doesn't have mufflers on it yet! Feels really good to drive it again. I need to clean it tomorrow and afterwards I'll shoot a video of the sound for you. Stay tuned!

Hey Jim, that's good news. How much break in before you can romp on it?
