I guess I should have explained myself. I've been drag racing since 1968. Thanks Mike for the back up. Look at my first car in the gallery under George, ran 12.70's back in 1968-9 in a converted pasture in Vacaville,CA. I restored the 65 GTO & 67 L71 myself. I raced my 2002 Z06 over 120 passes down Thunder Valley here in Bristol. Of teh 10 corvette I've owned I've raced 5 of them. Blown up several parts as well along the way.
This LS7 is different animal. Didn't want to break or wreck on my 1st day out. I've had the clutch replaced at 2,300 miles, bought used in January w/2,000 miles and wanted to know what all everyone was normally getting the best hole shots with. Had little butt time in the car when I wrote this thread. I bought a set of used chrome 18" x 12" rims from Jim L. in CO. and renewed the drag radials. Have a best run of 11.66 at 125 mph+. I'm leaving each time at 2800-3000 RPM, popping the clutch, no toe and heal or heating up the tires. Just a quick haze and stage. I usually catch good lights. Best this year was .008. That ET/MPH is NHRA altitiude/density adjusted. I don't take offense of wise guy remarks, those are the guys who used to watch me as a teenager running 12's. And still do today. Bristol Dragway is open twice a week for any local people to run at so bring it on over and enjoy your car w/out getting a ticket. Send me an private email and I'll be there. I only 5 miles from the strip so you won't be alone but amonst freinds. We have folks from NC,SC,KY and VA here all the time. Even some elderly guy from KY 82 years old driving an all wheel drive new Red Porsche in the 11's. So your never too old to enjoy the sport.
