As soon as I get the chance, I'm going to run my new Z out here at the track in Albuquerque. We are a mile high, just like the Denver guys.
I'm told that even my mighty Z06 is going to take at least a full second hit coming from sea level to up here. Apparently mediocre drivers are getting mid 13's out here, and the good one's with mods are getting mid/high 12's. I'm putting myself into the mediocre group until I learn to launch my new baby, but I think I'll be pretty disappointed if I don't break into the 12s!
I was wondering what times people are seeing up this high.

If your car is stock, you can expect to see times in the mid to low 13's depending on how you drive it and what kind of 60' times you get.
My car is not stock, (see my sig) and the best I've gotten so far was at Pueblo this past spring, on a day with a decent D/A (6000'). 12.20 @ 117+
That was with a lousy 1.9 short time bogging it out of the hole with MT drag radials. On my next pass, I raised launch RPM to 5k and the left shaft on the stock rear went south on me. I don't bother going to the strip during the summer heat as the D/A's get pretty ridiculous. (9000'+ is pretty common).
I'll get back to the strip in the fall when the weather cools off and see if I can get the car into the 11's, now that I have the entire drive train beefed up enough to handle some hard launches on the sticky tires. It's going to take a near perfect run for you to get your stock Z into the 12's at altitude.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Based on the density altitude, the 5,000 ft at Albuquerque gives you about 20% less oxygen in the same volume of air. You can figure close to that(20%) amount as a loss of hp. Obviously your times will be slower with less hp.
We have one guy with a C5Z nearly stock who runs 13.5 in 9000ft DA heat on street tires. His best is 13.0. There are many others who don't drive as well and can barely break into 13's.
But don't worry. Big bad Porsche Twin Turbos run about 13.5 too.....

I've run my stock '02 Z06 at Bandimere with Michelin PS2s and gotten a 13.328. My Z now has Nitto NT-01's on it and I am positive I can shave a little time off of that.

13.30's in this air sounds pretty good from what I'm hearing. I know my friend's viper is dong 13.60's, so as long as I can beat him, I'll be happy!
And I'm a C5 Z06 with twin cone intake, kook's headers, full exhaust, and some unknown but fairly stout cam.
Haven't been on a dyno? If it is running pretty good on that cam then you may be able to do 13-flat. Heads/cam/headers cars here can do mid to low 12's depending on who is driving.
No dyno yet. Hopefully soon. I know it needs a tune up and I found out this weekend that the rev limiter has not been set up to compensate for the camshaft (yes, I learned that the hard way against an 05/06 GTO LS2). First I need to get the EBCM fixed, and then have the tranny gone over (third fourth synchro is dying).
And don't forget, Bandimere is a MUCH better track than the lowly Albq Motorsports park. I hope to report just how much better once I get my baby running right! I'll try both and see what the times look like. THEN I'll take her down to a sea level track and see what the real numbers are! Should be a fun experiment!
