Just thought I'd let you know that a Novi 2000 supercharged, stock bottom end 2004 Z06 (has been converted to an automatic) went 9.92@138 in +1500 DA air last night at Atco. The car belongs to a friend of mine, Alan Eckert. He was not driving since he was on vacation, so Doug Ring, co-owner of the shop which did the work on the car was the "shoe." This was also done with a "soft" 1.50-60'. I'll also say that this car has all it's belts, has functioning A/C, had both seats in it and typically is driven to and from the track with DR's on. Impressive, to say the least.
Come fall and much better weather and a more aggressive 60' time the car should easily dip into the 9.7's.
Holy SNIKIES Donman!!!!
That's awesome!!
Tips to Chris, Doug and the crew..........
Yeah...pretty neat stuff. This isn't the first time one of their blown stock bottom ended cars dipped into the 9's. There is another client who has a 2004 LS1 coupe with a Novi blower and stock bottom end/stock heads (also an auto car) that went 9.8's @ 138+ last year in the late fall at E'town.
Here are the only mods for Alan's Z06:
Paxton base kit 6 rib
blower cam
alky kit
ARH 1 3/4 with cats factory Ti exhaust
RPM 4l60 with stock 3.42 gears
Any time you can get a street car into the 9's (I'm not talking a street legal purpose built strip car) it is an amazing thing. Respect has been earned.
So the question now is Don, when you will turn a 9.XX?
George,
I'm not prepared to give up my 6 speed and to get a 6 speed car into the low 10's high 9's is a feat few have accomplished to date (without a great deal of carnage on the drivetrain in the process of achieving it)...and takes much better driving than I'm capable of.
