If you released the clutch "instantly" as you stated, I'd think you should have bogged off the line, not spun, unless you dumped the clutch.
The C6Z clutch can't take slipping or it falls to the floor & your run is pretty much done.
I'd suggest when you're at the track, forget reaction times until you run an organized event or you get your launch & tehcnique down pat, after MANY runs.
On street tires, drop the rear psi to 25 & bump up the fronts to 40.
Do a smallish burnout, but AVOID the water.
Get your launch rpm's set & then launch. Disregard the car in the other lane & the green light until you're ready to go. You'll need a quick release w/ accompanying quickly flooring the gas, but don't mash it.
Shift as close to redline without hitting the rev limiter & shift as fast as you can.
it takes alot of feel to get it down. Good luck & have fun! Once you get it, the car is a real beast!
