Team Pitt getting Z Differential fixed

I dropped my diff on the 5th run of the night @ Gainesville.
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...e/DSC01291.jpg

I was loaded with a new 383 Stroker and a 390 gear. Mark is fixing my diff now. Below are some vids of his Yellow Bird.

EFI Alchemy Yellow, anything but Mello Bird

..the Hot weather... and him scared to do the Pitt 6800 launch (because he is smarter than me)...kept him from hitting the 10's again. Cold weather (if we ever get any) will put this Bird into some serious 1/4 mile times. This Boy can drive and work on anything that uses GAS !! If you have a weird problem on a GM product and need help...this is your BOY !!! Team Pitt tells it like it is, no BS here !!!

Run #1 MyMovie20.flv - Video - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Run #2 Mark2.flv - Video - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

A little slower all night as the clutch got hot..
Run # 3 Mark3.flv - Video - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This Bird is only getting better with age. Mark drove it about 90 miles there and 90 miles back after several runs. Tune is by Doc & Rick @ EFIALCHEMY ...What a Team these guys are. From a motor problem to electrical issues...these are your boys !! Trust me. Just had my Silverado in for AC wireing nightmare. Local shop spent 3 days and couldn't fix it..they had it wired to a toggle switch. Mark had it working in a day and back on the original GM panel. I don't care if you are a 10 hour drive or more..these Boy's are worth the drive if you have something no one else can solve. Hats off to Mark, Rick & Doc !! This is no Sales Pitch..Trust me....hold me responsible for these words !!

Good stuff Pitt. I prolly won't see the track until BG. It's heating up here with daytime temps around 110 and will be that way until October.

Yeah, 110...I'd say your done alright. That is too hot for a helmet or a motor.
Hopefully BG won't be too bad ???

Nice runs by the bird. 11s nothing to sneeze at.

Sorry about the diff. Looks like a simple ring and pinion will take care of the problem.

Hey Jub,
Yeah, putting a Cyro treated one in + the side cover cracked. Hope it can take a little abuse then.

Already had one...thought I was pretty much bullet proof with only 434 rwhp, 400 tq. Had both hardened shafts, DTE Brace, RPM Tranny, Tunnel plate and Stage 4+ clutch. That's not a lot of power compared to most of the modded vettes I see.

Re: Team Pitt getting Z Differential fixed

DTE use to sell a heavy duty side cover for the diff. It went on the right side and was machined from billet aluminum. A nice piece and very heavy duty.

I looked for it on their web site but I didn't see it. I guess there wasn't enough interest.

I bet if you called them they would make you one though.

Hey Jub,
they do have one and I considered it. However, with a force strong enough to snap both the ring and pinion inside of the case, I thought it best to leave one weak link if it breaks again. I am afraid of cracking the entire case and would rather replace the cover. They seem to crack right where the seal is on the cover. Makes sense to me anyway...LOL
