well finally got a little taste at the drag strip of what can be achieved with having made some changes on my 07 Z.upgrades are as follows cam, halltech air induction, kooks LT headers, corsa x pipe with high flow cats, and a good tune.My Best pass was 11:46 at 128.5 mph found out i need more practice launching this thing really not that easy. appears to be enough power to run (with some more practice) high 10s lower 11s also would like to see 130mph+. hopefully this can be achieved on street tires but non the less a work in progress.fyi i ran next to a complete stock 08 Z for the day and his best pass was 12:10 at 124.5mph.mind you were no John Force but was a fun expierence.

What kind of cam, what's your rwhp & the 1/8mi MPH?
I have your same setup (minus the cam) & ran 11.4x @ 126 here in FL.
Thx
Did you also run the 11.4 on street tires ? Just curious.

Scott, your 1/4 mile isn't even close to what she will do yet. 128 mph is up there and it will run even better in cold air. Your 1/8 mile shows you are spinning. You will be in the sixes and over 100 mph when she bites. Drag radials, cold dry air and some seat time...I bet she will hit 10.5 @ 130 mph
i think your right, definatley need more seat time, any suggestions at what rpm to launch at for optimum efficiency? also by putting drag radials on would i be jepordizing breaking my rear end or is it strong enough to withstand a harder launch.(just thinking about the C5 Zs know they had issues with breaking rear ends when hit with more power)

I'm no expert even though I have snapped my ring and pinion (after many 6500 rpm launchs).
I have no clue on street tires. My Z had to be launched around 2000 rpm on street tires, and slowly press the gas pedal to the floor..you have 100 more hp. Your gas probably has to be feathered to keep spin down. I would try around the same rpm and just experiment. You obviously can't just mash the pedal to the floor like I did. Sounds like you are running pretty good now...just go lighter on the gas thru first gear till you hook.
I was launching my C5Z around 3200 with heated up drag radials and stock clutch and driveline with no problem. That was giving me a high 1.6 sixty foot and an 11.7 quarter. I was slipping the clutch a little and pretty quick on the gas. I think if you can remember to slip that clutch every time, your output shaft should be ok.

Thanks for posting this info. It's very informative even for those who do not go to the drags. It's like free dyno time for everyone else if they pay attention.
Well my other concern is the rear end in these things is the stock rear end strong enough to withstand a hard launch and a solid hook which would lead me into some good drag radials or do i need to beef it up. are guys out there destroying there stock rear ends with the same kinda of power(500+rwhp) ? ?
