I have a nice 03 s2000 I autocross and track but I am tempted to get a C5 Z06.
I love the s2000 car but it lacks grunt on the track, not so much a matter in autocross.

anyone gone from an s2000 to c5 z06? Is the z06 as fun to drive? do you miss the s2000?

Yep. I had a 2001 S2000, which I drove for 2 years. It's a great car, but the Vette is in a different league. You won't regret it.

been there done that.

s2000 is very fun.. all the power up in the higher rpms.. the z has balls!!! low end grunt. .

that is what makes it fun !

the s2000 is very tail happy. .will spin you out.. the z is planted..

whats steering feel in a C5 z06 like? hows it compare to S2000?
I drove a friends miata the other week and realised how numb my s2000 steering feels

It's hard to compare these cars. With the Z06 you won't get the same 'go cart' handling, but it's a way faster car. I recently went back to the S2000. A friend at work lent me hers for a couple of hours. I still find it enormous fun to drive, but it feels like driving a Civic compared with the Z.

I know I just don't like to go and try and get to drive peoples cars if I don't have the money ready to buy
I will try and find one at a dealer or something though

I traded in my 06 s2000 for the 03 z06. Like everyone is saying: The z06 is in a different league. I have to say the s2000 has a fun go kart feel but no where near the power of the z06. Also, around many twists and turns I have been able to take the z06 just as fast as the s2000. Not too sure about the track yet though. I had a lot of convertible top problems with my s2000 and the vsc (vehicle stability control) is sometimes annoying. I feel I have more control in my z06 than I did in the s without questioning if I am gonna slide out or not (VSC). Not trying to knock the s though it is a nice ride.

I went from a 2007 S2000 to a 2004 Z06. The Z06 has more power, we all know that. I felt more in touch with the S2000 then I do with my Z06. I just autocrossed my Z for the forst time today. I know for a fact I could have went faster in my S2000. That could be because I had more seat time in it. IMO the handling on the S2000 feels better, but the power of the Z06 is amazing. My opinion will probably change once I get to know the Z better. As of now, I don't regret it.
