Opening this as new thread so successful registrants can do their "bench racing" here ...

"New for 2008 is an HPDE at the fabled Elkhart Lake Road America circuit. 4 high speed miles of turns, straights and huge elevation changes makes RA one of the premier road courses on the ALMS circuit. We have reserved the M onday/Tuesday following the ALMS race in August. Imagine watching Corvette Racing on August 8-9 and then being able to experience the exact same track on August 11-12. As in the previous schools, we enjoy tremendous support from Tom Wallace, Performance Cars VLE and will have a number of Performance Team members participating as students. We expect Tom Wallace and Kirk Bennion to again reprise their roles as instructors.
Once again we will have two sections for the beginner/novice group as well as slots for intermediate, advanced and instructors with room for a total of 140 students (not counting instructors). Students must drive either a coupe or FRC Corvette; convertibles are only permitted if they have an SCCA roll cage. All students in the beginner, novice and intermediate level will have classroom instruction and will be accompanied by an instructor in their car while on track. Advanced students will be checked out for possible solo status.
Registration should open April 16th, 2008 at 8am central time . You will want to make your reservations as soon as registration opens as this event will fill up in HOURS. Make sure you are signed onto NCM e-News to be notified about the event. Pre-registration includes a personalized event hardcard and event t-shirt."
Notes from NCM ListServ:
"If you followed the registration for VIR you know that registration sold out in 25 minutes and we anticipate the same for Road America.
Everyone will want to make sure that you have your Login name and password straightened out BEFORE the registration goes live. All registrations need to be handled on the website at corvettemuseum.com at the top of the page put your mouse on "Events" and then click on "HPDE Road America". After you register please go ahead and fill out the Drivers Classification form and send it in. Please do not wait till the last minute to do this. Please do not call in unless you are having major troubles. If you call in you most likely will not be able to talk with Roc or myself as we will be quite busy with others calling in. This will put you into our voicemail and we will not guarantee that we will return your call before registration sells out.
We will again have a Banquet for the event at an additional charge. If you plan to attend the banquet please select that item on the registration page. If you plan to bring a guest/spouse/friend/second person, etc. please click "Add a Guest" and put in your guests information and select the dinner.
Instructors also need to register for the event and the banquet if they plan to attend."

Reason: bold dates
This from the NCM e-News:
"Thanks to some special contacts and friends, we will have some interesting attendees as visitors and instructors at the upcoming Road America HPDE – August 11-12.
Dick Guldstrand will be in attendance to talk about his race experiences; Gib Hufstader will be instructing and talking about Corvette history; Andy Pilgrim, Corvette and Cadillac driver, will be part of some classroom time and rides; Shields Bergstrom, race driver and currently Aston test driver, will be instructing and assisting in the Advanced Group classroom. We will also have Tom Wallace and Kirk Bennion attending as instructors. We have open slots in Intermediate (Blue) and Advanced (Black) and there are a limited number of seats available at the dinner. The Road America event promises to be one of our broadest yet with a lot of excitement. Guests and spectators are welcome. Find out more and reserve your spot here." http://www.corvettemuseum.com/registration/HPDE/infora.shtml
Good place to visit, or hang over after the ALMS race if you're fortunate enough to have that opportunity ...
BTW ... They should have a number of ZR1's there ... and will have them on the track ...
