Re: Frequency of trans/diff fluid changes for tracked cars?

I blew my automatic in about 5,000 miles doing autocross and burnout competitions. Didn't even have a chance to change the fluid! LOL

I like changing the piston seals when I change pads they do get hot and since I do a lot of late braking to pass C-6 Z06's, it's cheap insurance. The seal kits are about $12 each.

I melt the dust boots and asked DRM about it. They said that it was normal, they don't even put the dust boots on with the SS pistons.
holy cow batman! I am lucky to get 2 wknds outta my Napa rotors!

I change out the diff and tranny every spring, bleed brakes before every track event

Re: Frequency of trans/diff fluid changes for tracked cars?

OK here is the info on the R4 compound.

R-4 Full Race Compound – Designed specifically for heavy-duty motorsports. The carbon based semi-metallic R-4 materials allow the pad to absorb tremendous amounts of heat and dissipate it at very even rate. Carbon Kevlar material warms up to race temperature quickly, which is quite helpful during restarts, and when track time is limited. When used with cast iron and steel alloy rotors, the R-4 compound requires minimal bed-in period. Throughout the entire heat range, the carbon kevlar material will give extremely consistent modulation and predictably. This is truly the most rotor friendly racing brake pad material ever. Good for road courses, oval track, rally, vintage racing, autocross, club events or professional racing events.
