1992 Ferrari 512TR w 500hp +, 2800 #, stripped interior, full cage 12 points at least, fuel cell, stacks instruments, Motec ignition, Bob Wallace trans, Penske shocks, Koenig body
did a 0:58 at Lime Rock, looking for a 0:56 this summer
I love the Glen, this summer I'll be running WGI, LRP, & Pocono
in the fall Moroso, Homestead & maybe Sebring. Sebring is pretty tough on cars
Yeah maintenance is pretty crazy, I blew 2 or 3 $12-18k stock ferrari transmissions, got sick of that and had Bob Wallace build me a full race trans at ONLY $50k
Now I have a spare engine & a spare trans that I will have rebuilt over the winter. The current engine is stock & makes just over 500hp w motech ignition & straight pipes. The race engine I hope will have a new induction system and close to 600hp
The other Ferrari guys who run BBLMs tell me I need to upgrade the suspension as much as possible and not get crazy w the hp
my crew chief was talking about custom A arms
I added the penske shocks end of last year and they made a huge difference in rebound
how much do you worry about bumping other cars when you drive a Ferrari as a race car? or do you do timed stuff?
