Re: NCM HPDE Schedule for 2008
Wow, exciting heads-up..thanks for the advance info.
IF, we still lived in MI, the Elkhart Lake HPDE would be a GO. Beuatiful track, rich history, great facilities.
Hmmm, let's see about Virginia...that's closer to home now.
Denny...the links lead me to a "wrong turn". Am I to assume the museum just hasnt updated the site with the info yet?
Thanks; they worked on the original thread I linked to ... I fixed the links ... note that the Road America link says "spring mountain" but addresses RA.
Denny,
Looks good for my b-day! What was the cost last year? Thanks, Don
It is full course, and I believe the cost last year for NCM members was around $435 for two days, including ls Tee and Sat eve dinner. If you're not a member, it's $50.00 more, (which is the cost of a year membership - which you get). It might be a bit higher this year, as track insurance costs are going up everywhere.
Great time! ... hope you can make it, Don!

Will try! It sounds like a lot of folks will want to do this. Might not be enough slots. I am already a member of the NCM. Thanks, Don
Last year, I think they capped the registration at 120 (based on # of cars they felt they could accommodate on the full course circuit in a session)
As is usual, there were some last minute no-shows. They ended up with 111 students across 4 run groups.
C4: 2
C4 ZR1: 1
C5: 19 (incl FRC)
C5Z06: 19
C5 Z06T1: 1 (loaner from Phoenix MS, who was building a full-up track C6Z06 configuration for the guy!)
C6: 17
C6Z06: 52 (of these, 22 were in the Green (novice) group
Did you do VIR last year?
I just got a mail from ROC that registration is going to open Feb 5th and that it will sell out in hours.
What's the track like?

Later,
David ... yes I did.
I posted an extract from the NCM eNews here: VIR Registration News
Track is great ... most on East coast rank Watkins Glen and VIR as 1&2 best tracks they've been on. I've been on both and I believe VIR is better suited to the Novice/Intermediate as the run-off distances are more generous.
Hope you can make it!
