Has anyone brought track tires to/from an event on a roof rack. I have seen it done on Porsches and BMWs before but was wondering if any company makes one or any individual has figured out how to make one for C5s. I realize that trailers are more common, and one is not out of the question for me, but because of the lack of storage space in my apartment they are very inconvenient.

A more plausable solution is to install a trailer hitch and then use a "game carrier" such as those used by hunters. Try searching a Cabela's catalog.

They come in steel, steel/plastic or Aluminum. I would recommend the Aluminum one which will hold 350-400#'s.

Made by Hitch Haul, Valley Industries, and Bumper Buddy. I am pretty sure the Aluminum ones are by Bumper Buddy.

Do carriers such as you described obscure the tail-lights?

I just want to cover all bases.

Has anyone install a hitch with 2 tip Borlas on Z? I was told the hitch doesn't fit.

The carriers themselves will not obscure the taillights.

If the cargo (tires) do then you can easily attatch lights to the carrier and splice in at the plug & play junction wiring.

A trailer works great! This one was built by Trailers Unlimited in Anaheim, CA

4'-0" x 6'-0" with a 3500 lb. axle with 15" wheels. Tows straight as an arrow at 100 MPH.

Mileage did go from 27 @ 85 MPH to 22 pulling the trailer, all aero drag! You don't even know it's back there.
