Slotted rotors from DBA

Tire Rack is selling slotted rotors for about $140ea from a company I am unfamiliar with: DBA - Disk Brakes Australia. **edited***

Does anyone have experience with this mfr? Even better, anyone have track experience with their 4000 Series one piece rotors on a C6 Z06?

I am burning through my stock cheese grater replacements too quickly and am looking for a better, longer lasting one piece solution for both street & track.

Yea, it's hard to beat the $25 Napa rotors for a C-5, never checked to see if Napa is doing C-6 rotors!

They aren't. The DBAs are the only reasonably priced rotor out there right now. At least for the Z51. Somebody needs to do something soon.

Re: Slotted rotors from DBA

I spoke to the guys at Carbotech regarding the one piece pad. He indicated that testing showed DBA as nearly as good as Brembo. Wow, that's a statement there.

He also said that if you buy Brembos, you should know that some of them come from China. The quality of these has proven poor in testing.

I'm sorry but DBA is not a supporting vendor here so advertising in any way is not allowed.

If you have an interest in supporting the site, please send me a pm and we can discuss it further.

Sincere apologies to the site admin and users if I was overzealous.

It is a one piece rotor so it will split just like a NAPA. I would rather pay 300 for a two piece Stoptech vs 140 DBA

It is unlikely that it will split as fast as the chinese rear rotors form NAPA.

The design of the rear rotor is part of the issue. They produced a vented rear rotor - but the plate thickness is simply too thin allowing for rapid failure on track.

I don't have the ability ($$) to dyno test - but I would expect to get more life from the DBA rear rotors. At the moment I only have heresay to prove it - but lasting a weekend versus a session ro 2 might be worth it to stay off your back at the track.

Hey there,

Might want to check out the Stillen section - Need Brake Rotors for your Vette?

Hope this helps some

The DBA Z06 4000 series rotors have been put through the paces by many by now. Users running Carbotech, Hawk, PFC have reported very good braking - few or no reports of judder, premature wear, or transfer layer problems.

The results are pretty good - they are tough and will last on track very well. I'd put them up against anything out there.
