Thanks, Deb ... good video ... looked like great weather and track conditions
I'm guessing you're running street tires.
Any idea what you were turning for lap times? (video fade-out/in made it hard to guess ...)

she has my nitto R2's on stock Z rims.....after bringing them to multiple events for her I told her you ARE trying these this time tell me what you think.
I don't think she wants street tires......just keep away from my hoosiers.

Deb ... whatcha think of the Nittos?
I ran Nitto RII's at VIR and at the Glen as well (no trailer, so that's the most I can do)
LOVE THEM!!!! Like Steve said.........keep me away from his slicks
When he took the wheels off my car he said "Damn! Nice job, you peeled the rubber sideways and gave these things a workout"
Thanks again Steve!!!

Denny, not sure what times I was turning, but I can view the uncut video tonight and let ya know.........I doubt it was anything tremendous

Yeah, rolled mine too ... they stick so much better than full streets that it takes prolly another .5 degree camber to keep them working across the whole thread.
NP on the times ... just idly curious (have NO idea what I ran up there anyway ...
cya

you've been in the car with me........and I don't exactly have a habit of playing fair in regards to horsepower. Hell I laugh at C6Z's and wave.....even with heads/cam

He cant. He can drive fast, but he cant figure out a CamCorder!!!!
its teh dumb chick at circuit city's fault she swore up and down a hard drive format camera would work fine for automotive use......I don't even make it down pit lane till it shuts off.

Except for that stock C6Z that showed up the day after you in warmer weather and ran 2.13's on street rubber to your 2:14 - 1st time at the track. Did not realize how modified your car was. Running Hoosiers with well over 500hp at the crank?

You even have more posts than me!
never claimed a 214 as my own. yes I have more than 500 at the crank, more than that at the wheels. hasn't been dyno'd yet, old 346 turbo combo was 710/640 but would heatsoak and die halfway through a session and cook itself at 240-260, this 427 c5r stays cool as can be. has ported LS7 top end a bit more compression, solid roller, jesel valvetrain etc. Your average grocery getter setup. Setup for a 300 shot for the hell of it too.

Dang, sorry about that. I was bustin' the wrong chops hoping to have a bit of fun. Given the above, I think I would need a teleporter to keep up.

aint a bad time for first time on the track an stock trim none the less. played with C6Zs at spring mountain.....the power was definetely nice but seemed more street car and 'plush' and disconnected than the older C5's That was the icing on the cake for me to take the 03 to the next level vs trading in. Hell I could have brought another used C5Z for teh price difference.
Even now I'm debating dumping this one, putting the 427 into a crap C5 shell and gutting and ragging the hell out of it and buying a nice vert for the street and put the old turbo motor into it.
